The Correct Amount of Damsels

Pip pip!

So, running a few missions last night in an admittedly altered-state. Had popped through the waves of Damsel and was letting my Mobile tractor and salvage drones do their thing while trying to craft a witty and engaging reply to a text (this took some time)...

So, a few minutes pass and I look back at the screen to see no wrecks left so scoop up the tractor and open the crate to take the Damsel and good loot... And there's no Damsel... Double-check I don't have any filters on... that I haven't removed crates from the overview etc... No joy. I simply assumed that some enterprising capsuleer had sneaked in and pinched my Damsel but no one replied in local and no ransom by mail or anything.

So, hardly the end of the world I decide not to hand the mission in (maybe it would reset after down time) and wander off to another agent who gives me another Damsel mission... Run that one (keeping a better eye out for interlopers) and tractor in the crates as soon as the station pops - I find two damsels!

Handed both missions in and decided I was confused enough to pass out :)

TL:DR No Damsel in the first mission, two damsels in the second...

Anyone seen anything similar?

Cheers

could have been an inventory bug? You had the first damsel in your cargo all the time, but it wasn;t displaying properly until you looted another one an they, hmm, well... stacked? (do they actually stack, btw? hehe)

I have (albeit very rarely) had this issue with inventory items disappearing before, and re-logging is the solution.

There's also an alternate explanation, given your 'altered' state, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt Lol.

Nice choice of words :')

Yes, I was playing one night and there was no Damsel, just like your case. I decided just to quit the mission and move on. The next day I ran a mission, I think it was the score, and The Damsel was among the loot.

I sold the ***** in Jita.

Wait, wait, I am confused...is she a b* or a wh*? I thought it was the latter based on the mission description.

I thought, please correct me if I am wrong, that she was out strutting her stuff, showing some skin, yada, yada and yada and this dude Zor or something likes what he sees and BAM takes off with her...

I'm almost sure that's exactly what happened...

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

At the beginning of sister arc lvl1 the one you can do every 3 months for standing I don't remember mission name but in bunch of wrecks there is one called damsel wreck and it is tempest battleship wreck.

Not sure is it related to this well known damsel.

With me it usually turns out I have set my filters to display "only loot worth more than 500k ISK" or something and then forgot I did it.

Maybe I am naive but I was under the impression that she was the dealer, which is why she ejects the load of drugs first and then gets into her own escape capsule.

Which also explains why the altered-state pilot didn't see her in the wreckage of the first mission: she was on board loading up his IV with the good stuff.

Inventory can be on very rare occasions glitchy and not properly update what it shows client side. Could have been a miscommunication between your side and server side data.

Sometimes, when you alter the inventory for instance (like moving stuff around from station hanger to a ship's cargo hold), the server gets everything it needs and now knows your inventory is altered, but the convo between server and client screws up and the client doesn't reflect the same changes. You'll sometimes know it happens when you try to move something that's in one location to another, but the item seems to remain in place while you get a notification that the item is already been moved. Once the client catches up with the server, the inventory will fix itself and everything goes back to normal and the item is in the same spot both client and server side.

Ever wonder why sometimes your ship seems to be shooting at something, but no damage is reflecting? Or that during those moments, your own HUD isn't showing any change in shield/armor/structure redouts even though you're sure you should be taking damage and your booster/repper should be repging it back? Ever seen your ship seem to "teleport" or jerk midflight mysteriously or suddenly seem to "realign" when trying to aligning to something for warp? It's another instance of the client loosing track of the server due to a disconnect, so the client sort of stops updating until it can regain connection and resume. Normally, the client gives the server some time to hear back from it before simply terminating process.

In your case, sounds like you didn't initially "see" her in inventory, but she actually was there the whole time. Sneaky devil.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
