So I decided to do ratting the other day in my vni and I came across the problem of either as soon as I destroyed a single rat they would unlock me and attack my drones or as soon as I launch my drones they would deagress to attack them. Are there any tips for these 'drone' games I had to keep playing with the rats. The sight i atemped to do was a serpentis refuge, I lost some good drones trying to do that sight.

Hey,

two options for your VNI:

1. either return your drones and redeploy again ( make sure to kill small stuff asap, the BS dont hurt your drones )

or

you might have the aggro bug ( might be fixed already ) , in that case undock, eject from your ship and reenter it again.

I learned the drone recall trick after I lost a few but it doesn't seem to be an effective way of gaining Isk compared to the exploring I do. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong with ratting.

as mentioned, try the second part... it might fix your problem.

yo can really compare exploration to ratting. If you want a steady stream of incame choose ratting. Exploration is very luck based.. some days you get nothing some days you get a lot of ISK.

but even ratting can be optimized for ISk per tick .. using the proper ship/Fitting and tacticBlink

According to EVE University Drones 101,

1. Elite frigate and cruiser NPCs will go for small drones and above.
2. Regular frigates and cruiser-sized NPCs will go for medium drones and above.
3. Battleship NPCs will go for large drones.

NPC aggro of drones has recently been updated, but I have learned a few tricks. First, Elite frigates and cruiser usually have some sort of EWAR, or scramble or web. Although they target drones immediately, if they web you, for example, they finish the entire activation cycle before switching to drones.

In my experience, Gallente drones seem to get targeted and destroyed much faster than Amarr and Caldari drones. I know Gallente drones have less armor and more DPS, but I recently ran Enemies Abound and used Caldari drones the entire time and not once did they target them. When I ran it a couple of weeks ago, I used Gallente drones and they were almost immediately targeted and destroyed.

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

some of my friends said that it may be a bug that was fixed, but it still seems to be happening for me.

You might not want to hear my advice, but don't use drones. Missiles never miss.

I've had missiles miss me. They go wiff right as I warp out.

Smart bombs.

OP. Sentries in and out. You can also use 4x dmg drones and then an armour to repair the others.
Remote repper is probably the better idea.

Guns are better in a lot of ways.
Armour tank, Sensor Booster, blast, change targets and blast again.
Does require that you have some ability at flying your ship, however. P

The proverbial "they" decided it wasn't fair for drone users to fight all the live long day, while ammo and missile users had to spend MONEY to replace what they used up. SO, they invented aggro on the drone. The idea is great. I use drones, so I felt a bit guilty about not paying my way as it were.

However, the implementation purely sucks to the point of making one wish he was proficient in missiles; eventually selling back that stock of drones so some other poor miscreant can buy them and use them like we use TP. I doubt "they'll" ever get back in to adjust that. "They" aren't known for this anymore...calibrating to find the sweet spot.

I don't even think boycotting drone use until it is fixed will work.
T2 drones are really expensive to use up in a mission, no?

PS Can I add a PS? Thanks. Resorting to just using Sentry drones isn't a solution.
It makes all the other drones in the game dunsels.

Does using ewar or repair mods still draw agro to the ship?
