Same here, i don't know what should i take for the Oracle.

Low slots (6x) :

-Damage controls II
-1600 Crystalline Carbonide Restrained Plates
-Energized Nano Membrane II
-Reactive Armor Hardener
-Heat Sink II
-Heat Sink II

Ship Modifications (3x) :

With all due respect, you have a fairly good idea about how to fit the lows, but not the mids and highs? Really?

With 3x Heat sink the bonus is not too much reduced ? And ty for reply.

3x is still worth it , 4x arguably not.

the oracle is a fairly skill intensive ship though, it relies heavily on your gunnery skills and fits battleship(large) guns.

you may be better off in an omen if your skills are lower.

If the cruisers get close to you, then even if you have a web they should still be able to beat the tracking on your Oracle and kill you.

this says more about the oracle than I ever could. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX57sSqDC24

1600mm plate and trimarks, I probably wouldn't, I'm not even tempted to pull up eft and look at the speed on that. and with a 10mn ab, that just seems like a no no. Maybe with logi support.

and with 2mil sp oracle feels like a bit of a stretch. killing experienced players in cruisers is something that probably wont happen at least not without some help. if you get inside point range they will likely be able to move fast enough you can't hit them and easily kill you. outside of point range you are going to need someone to hold a point or else they can just warp out.

depends on the ship, the role, number of slots, and what else you can fit in that slot. for PVE fitting 4 or even 5 damage mods can make sense (with 5 that should be a t2 damage rig as they give a bigger bonus so you get a ~5% damage boost, where a 5th damage mod does almost nothing). Although for PVE I've mostly shifted to warp speed rigs rather than damage rigs. On a frigate fitting 3 damage mods is probably a waste of slots, especially as that means you probably aren't fitting a damage control. On a BC or BS you can probably do it, although you might want to use 2 and use that other slot for a tank or utility mod.

I'm sorry, hold on a minute.

You have 2 mil sp with 362k in gunnery... you DO NOT NEED TO BE IN AN ORACLE.

You're going to be outclassed and outgunned by almost any other ship that has a decently spec'd pilot in it. But, here's why.

The support skills that are needed to really fly the ship even decently are going to be more than what you most likely have.

You're going to be using large guns, and with 362k sp in gunnery, there's no way you have the support skills to make those work against cruisers unless the cruiser pilot is EXTREMELY stupid.

A solo thorax is going to take you out mate.

Your best bet right now, is stick to the smaller, cheaper stuff and when it comes to gangs, get your own gang together and go after them, you're not going to do anything but give them target practice right now.

All true, hence why I say arguably . For the oracle it could indeed make sense.

As for the op's intentions with it though I do not foresee this ending particularly well,
I've never seen a solo oracle I would be happy flying , talos yes but never an oracle.
I would suggest that the op ask his friendly neighbourhood mercenaries if they wouldn't mind assisting him in this endeavour .

I think you over-estimate the capabilities of the Oracle.
It is in a class of ships that were designed to be snipe platforms. It should sit at range and be evasive as much as possible. And. it should be shooting at ships the same size or LARGER. It should be fairly easy to kill with many cruisers and a half decent frigate pilot could probably kill it. It is not built for huge tank.

Combined with your low skill training, it just about guarantees a loss mail waiting to happen.

My advice:
Don't fly it yet.
Fly smaller ships that don't hurt to lose, and get more experience.
Save your revenge for another time. EVE is a marathon. You can catch those pilots another day, even years from now.

And:
Get used to losing ships. Don't get all bitter and suicidal over one loss.
Pretty much.....every ship you ever fight with, is going to die at some point.
Get more experience, pick your fights based on that, and you'll have better results.

Thank you all for your advice, I will take it in consideration.

I know i haven't enough SP to fly it, it's why he stays in my storage for now. From what i understood this ship cannot do close fight with a cruiser without good chance to win and he's designed to kill large ship (correct me if i'm wrong).

I will train myself on smaller ship for now and i will return on my Oracle when i'll be ready.

Again thank you for your reply.

I would recommend that you do NOT go after people alone in a Oracle as it is meant to be flown as a glasscannon, it is not suitable for solo pvp. I would strongly recommend you flying a Harbinger instead.
