Can we have a definitive date for the removal of the legacy API keys.

It may encourage some developers to update their applications before the 'chop'

I've personally been surprised they hadn't already myself but I think the holiday season might have put off their original plan.

There's a good number of very nice applications that still work but have been abandoned.
Would be a shame to have them all stop working just because someone wanted to remove a legacy feature that has no downside.

I fear most of those apps will break anyways since they won't get updated with new skills/items and game mechanics as far Im concerned ccp should just rip out the stitches already.

Didn't they say something about "a month" and that was what 4 months ago (I suck at time keeping)

The down side is they don't follow the new security model so active legacy keys of directors and CEOs still expose their corp's full info and the same goes for chars. You can delete your old keys but like me (until now) I'm betting most haven't.

But... you know, the fact that they exposed all the data before was never a problem at the time. For the people not deleting those keys, they're obviously not a problem now. I have no problems whatsoever with keeping the old keys active indefinitely. Most applications will switch to the new system eventually.

That said, there is probably nobody who know better when to kill the old keys than CCP. After all, they are able to see how many API requests are done with both old and new keys. I imagine they will kill the old keys when they find that most people are using the new keys anyway.
They probably do not want to **** off a large part of their player base by forcing them to update when there is no real reason to do so.
