How do you work kill rights to make them effective?

There would seem to be some nuances to using kill rights.

For example, if you just make kill rights available to all, then I suppose the target can get in a rookie ship and have a friend kill him, killright wasted.

Another idea would be to charge a lot, like 100M. Would any of the guys at the Jita undock pay 100M for a BC kill? At 100M that is worth more than the BC, so the target would be less likely to activate it himself.

Yes.

This totally could not have been asked in your previous thread, and is not related to it in the slightest, lol

The way you make them effective is to grow a pair and use them yourself.

Obtain killright, stalk target, wait till they are in something worth your time, wait for opportune moment to sctivate killright. Win.

This is even better when your KR come via an alt, so they don't even know that the person in system has the ability to kill them.

Somebody else just told me that the target gets EVE mailed whenever a KR is sold or transferred.

Kill rights are generally ineffective, IMO.

You only get them for an illegal gank... Which means most of the kill rights out there are on people with sec statuses so negative it doesn't matter. Of those with positive sec status, most will understand and protect against the potential consequences.

That leaves a few "special forces" on the field who are positive sec status, ganked something, don't know enough pvp to protect themselves, and accept a risk.

It's not a unicorn, but it's not especially common either.

The ubiquity of the high-cost killright scam means you're pretty unlikely to get anyone to bite on one that's worth more than the target's ship. Also, it's good for you if the target's alert - you get paid every time it's activated, but it only gets used up on a kill. Price modestly, but not so modestly the target won't feel a sting if they just pay it off.

(Or take Bumble's advice...)

Yes. Nothing like getting that mail and then having your killright acctivated by a decloaking stratios while you read the mail you just got.

Just set it public for 1b and hope someone misreads it as 1m.

Had a KR put on me when I failed in ganking a Retriever (hangs head in shame). They put it for 1m so I decided to pay a newbie to shoot my Reaper and paid her 5m for it.

See, I was helping a newbie while helping myself. Thus, I am a Winmatar.

P.S. In my defense, it was a 0.7 system and apparently 645 dps doesn't cut it in a Catalyst.

Sorry, for trying to figure out the game. I actually play it, so I need this information.

You know, the marketing people at the development company are trying to find new demographics to attract as subscribers and I bet they never thought of targeting people who don't actually want to play the game, but are just looking for additional forums to troll. Maybe you could make a post to the Ideas & Suggestions forum telling them how successful that has been for you. I think they would really love that idea because that would allow them to increase subscriptions without increasing game server load.

Talking about yourself again?

The fact is, is that while it is all well and good asking questions about aspects of the game that one doesn't understand, that you don't necessarily have to start multiple threads on very similar topics - it's perfectly acceptable to ask several questions in the same thread (thereby saving valuable electrons).

As an addendum, just by looking at your character sheet it's quite clear that the character that you use to post is an alt of some sort - no standings, minimal security status, small bounty (thanks to me, heh). All that strikes me as someone who doesn't necessarily play the game, but is just looking for forums to troll.

Ironic, innit?

The only evidence you have played in the last 5 years on zKillboard is a pod kill in October, almost 4 months ago. No ship kill, just a pod.

I am trying to figure how that would happen. You undocked in a pod and then what? Autopiloted to Jita when a suicide ganker decided to kill your pod for giggles? You know that shuttles align and warp faster than pods right?
