Tibus Heth. Great Caldari Hero ? Or, Greatest Caldari Hero ?

Ahhhhh Diana...it's been years, yet she still does not get it. She hates Every. Last. One. Of. Us. Even the civilians planetside. If it's Gallente, then it's open season. Hell, I think if you got a bunch of Gallente children in a room with her....I shudder to think of what would happen.

Let me spell it out for you, Miss Kim. I DO NOT HATE THE CALDARI LIKE YOU HATE THE GALLENTE. Just the higher-ups in the Caldari leadership. And some lower-ranking officers. Trust me, the Caldari people would be a lot happier without tyrants like Heth leading them.

I even have Caldari people working on my ships, and even they said they do not like the direction the State is going, and that the higher ups make us look like bloodthirsty savages, and they should let go of the past.

I also even fly Caldari ships on occasion. I made it a point early on in my training that I would fly Caldari. I love their utilitarian look, and the internal hallways look so clean; everything is easily accessible. Except for the Condor though. That thing is so damn cramped it's not even funny. I like to tour my ships stationside at times, and I got stuck in the main corridor once. And the Raptor is even worse...

but I'm rambling. Bottom line - Kim's thinking is OBVIOUSLY flawed, and she needs professional help.

You silver-tongued devil, you. Also, you are completely correct in that I cannot be a hero - I'm not dead yet.

Don't pay attention to a brainwashed gallente pet dog, he is as far from understanding what does a thinking mean as an Ibis from Leviathan. Ma'am, I am afraid, you were scammed.
It doesn't matter how long you would boil a stone, you won't make a tea out of it, only boiled water with a stone inside.

However, there was an old Caldari tale about a spear meal. In short, a hungry warrior got to stay night in greedy peasant's house. Peasants didn't feed him, because as they said, they didn't have anything at all, and then the warrior offered them to make a meal out of his spear. He put a metal tip into cooking pot. Then asked for some salt, then to make it more yummier for some grains, for vegetables, for butter and even for a slice of meat. After they ate the meal they have found that the spear tip is still intact. The warrior said, that he will need it again when he will feel hungry again and there won't be any food around.

[A camera drone bobs and weaves skillfully between the slowly spinning blades of a gigantic air circulation unit. Eventually bored with that, it follows a broad beam of magnificent blood orange sunlight down through exposed scaffolding, down, down, passed the rococo facade of a belle epoque flat...

Without warning, an elongated Sebiestor youth bursts out an open window and climbs up two floors before a second Sebiestor bursts out the window below and gives chase. The race across taut cabling to the opposing tenement facade, clamber down three floors, jump to a merchant awning, drop to street level, and vanish through a sewer grate.

After it becomes apparent they will not resurface any time soon, the camera drone crosses the cul-de-sac and slips under a platinum foil patio umbrella. There, it finds the CRONE sipping tea. A small Vherokior boy nibbles on crumb cakes while holding a brightly colored ball in his lap.

The CRONE flips open the flexible screen morning holo paper.]

My goodness, that escalated quickly. A paragon of restraint, I'll just let things calm down a bit... what? No, you silly Gallidoodle, it wasn't the weird rattattatt Punisher that had drones left in the box. It was the exploded Thorax. Not that the drones would have made much a difference, of course, at least with respect to the survival of my brave crew. I salute you, brave, dead crew!

Oh, look! Speaking of an exploding Thorax, here's Diana!

[The CRONE lifts up her tea cup and peers into the liquid.]

Boiled... rocks...? Well, I suppose that would explain the boot to the head, but must they truly boil rocks to make tea in the Republic? The injustice!

Anya! We must go on a terrorist tea recovery raid!

That said, I wouldn't want to create an awkward social situation by suggesting that boiling rocks is not a proper way to make tea. If boiling rocks has been the accepted way to make tea for long enough, local tastes will have adapted and real tea might be viewed as nothing more than leaf bits floating in warm water. Far be it from me to impose my tea sensibilities on another culture. Perhaps we could add real tea to the menu as some exotic thing the Gallente cooked up to mask the excessive saline content of water on Luminous. Yes! Yes!

My dear God I love Diana so much I just want to squeeeze her (but for the fact that age has rendered me barely capable of lifting my own arms)!

Diana darling we have such a great deal in common. We are both beautiful and thin and share a deep affection for former Executor Heth. However, it cannot be denied that many organs, if not all organs, of the State have turned away from the Executor's singular vision.

Consequently, I wonder if I might tempt you - just a little itty bitty bit - into becoming, well, you know, a maniacal terrorist.

I am pretty sure neither of my own organs turned away from him.

Well, there are two parts of the proposition, so I will have to answer to them both... separately.

1) Maniacal. Negative, ma'am. I am a Caldari Officer and I tend to make conclusions and actions based on facts and logical reasoning. In several cases I act as an immediate response to other actions or because I was given an order. Behaving on maniacal reasons I consider unprofessional and not worthy of Caldari Officer. It is something that would gallente do, fighting for their freedom, or minmatars, fighting against slavers. Not me.

2) Terrorist. Ma'am, as one wise man said, "terrorism is just a poor man's war". Terrorism is something that untrained citizen can do. It is easy job for amateurs with dubious results. And I am a professional, ma'am. Whole my life I have been training to fight. I have skills of a soldier that shall be used to maximized efficiency, while terrorism would be simply a waste of these skills. As our greatest hero said, "everyone must do their job". And my job, ma'am, is to destroy military targets of significant threat and/or value, assets of direct enemies of the State that can be used against the State. And not some unrelated or civilian entities or installations in hope of causing fear but not affecting the real situation in the war.

You do realize there are professional terrorists right? Black ops units and other covert ops entities don't just assassinate people after all.

There are military covert ops, sabotaging important installations to help the army to advance.
And there are terrorist covert ops, that destroy some useless for the war installations and kill worthless civilians, who wouldn't be fighting anyway. Just to try to "scare stuff".

True, does any modern military really separate the two? Matari don't (officially anyways, I'm not really counting untrained people given high strength explosive charges, only actually trained covops/blackops operatives)

Well, Diana darling, I understand completely. But you just be sure to ringy dingy dong me if you ever change your mind.

Although tonight's terrorist raid into Providence did result in my exploding, I only targeted ships that could shoot back. Granted, I only had the opportunity to target ships that could shoot back. Furthermore, with respect to the ISK value of explosion transactions, I made out better this time. I would have made out much better yet, except the first half of the expedition was spent in a state of constant OH MY GOODNESS WHERE DID EVERYBODY GO!?

We're shooting? Are we shooting? What? What should I shoot at!?

Oh. It's dead.

I believe the boom boom that did me in was three bombs, which seems very unsporting, though my Blood Crusader was primarily designed to go from point A to point B faster than can practically be interrupted - rather than, you know, not blowing up in a stiff headwind.

I'm not sure if they have tea in Providence. Everything went by in a blur. ALIGN VEETICKDONGLEWHATSIT!

Align where? What? OH NO! THE PURPLE CLOUD IS LEAVING ME!

No, no, that is the letter E. That is not a One. Oh, ok, there is a one immediately following the OH **** IT! WARP TO LEADER, SWEETIES!

Stay in the jump cloak? But I've already tried to orbit and scramble the (bad) Omen... oh. I've exploded.

In the State there is no "terrorist forces" at all, since we don't believe in such inefficient actions. And we have our own covert and black op divisions. I have myself participated in covert actions, but again, they weren't against any civilian and worthless targets to cause fear, but against military (and at the time I have served in the Navy - mostly against pirate installations, since the war hasn't started back then).

As for Matari, looking at their actions I could conclude they simply lack real professional military forces, that's why they treat terrorism as a normal warfare mean. As I said earlier, "poor man's war".
