Confessions of an ISK Doubling addict

I don't know how I ended up here, but I feel ashamed.

I knew ISK doubling services were a scam. I know the whole concept is utterly ridiculous. But here we go: I am addicted to ISK doubling services.

The problem started around six months ago, in Amarr local. I noticed the spam, read the bio, and it seemed like a harmless bit of fun - what's the harm in trying with a 10m ISK gamble? I knew I would probably lose the ISK but felt like taking a crazy chance.

So I made the deposit, followed the 'rules', and waited. My heart started beating faster and I stared intently at my wallet. Then...it happened...the blink!! 10m became 20m and I felt a little rush of dopamine running pleasurably through my brain. This was FUN.

In the excitement I immediately made another, larger deposit. And then, I stared at the wallet again...and waited. Nothing happened. But then an evemail arrived informing me that I had not followed the rules. So I read them, and it turned out they were in fact right. My ecstasy turned into deflation, but I knew what I wanted - the rush of seeing that wallet blink again.

I always knew that ISK doubling was a ridiculous scam, at best a ponzi scheme, but by then I didn't care. I COULD double some ISK, I could outplay the scammers. Or so I thought...

For the last six months I have tried every ISK doubler in the game, and I am almost bankrupt. But with every little wallet flash I felt that rush again, maybe a little less than before, but I increased the size of the donations to compensate - like an addict chasing that original high.

And now look at me. I have lost almost everything. Chasing the wallet flashes has left me destitute and worthless. The ISK doubling must stop, or I will have nothing.

So from this moment forth I would like to establish the in-game channel 'ISK Doubling Anonymous' - to support all those who struggle with ISK doubling addictions. Together, we can beat this.

I'm not convinced that you are addicted.

Let's do a test.

Send me all you have left and I will double it.

As a non ISK-doubler, I'm totally trustworthy. No rules. Just send me everything you have and you'll have it immediately doubled. That's a win for you.

When i log in later i will send you everything in my wallet. 3.5m ISK. I will then stare at the wallet icon.

There is something very addictive to the flashing ISK icon but I'd suggest you get into trading, it means those little flashes won't cost you 10mil a throw and you'll get that rush a lot more often and a lot cheaper.

That damn flashing light gives me the ***** so I turned it off years ago. Boom!

I got scammed once. I ended up with a damn Talocan Perpetual Clock that I carried around for a couple years before I got blown with it. I used to take it with me on roams from time to time. Bloody thing cost me 250mil isk so I was going to make use of it.

I miss that clock...

There is still isk doubling going on? I had no idea, my local chat in major hubs is minimized since several years.

Stock brokers as well as bona fide gamblers and other risk/reward venturers were hooked up to the good old EEG machine and showed the brain, when a win is registered, is stimulated in the exact same place cocaine stimulates.

You may well be, if your story is true, a dyed in the wool gambling addict. If you aren't lying here, never go to Vegas. Reno might be okay, but be sure you're already divorced when you do...should the circumstance fit.

Then again, it may be cheaper to ... well, we can't get into that here...not since Mittani's swan song.

As long as the tale of the hunt is told by the hunter, and not the lion, it will favor the hunter.
