The Rorqual: My 2 Cents

So I am sure what I am about to say has already been thought of...

The Rorqual is essentially an Industrial Character's Capital Ship Endgame. They train long, and hard to be able to sit inside of a POS bubble all day, and benevolently offer boosts to either a multitude of alliance mates or even a multitude of alt characters. Either way, these guys and gals constitute what would be part of EVE's Industrial backbone. With the upcoming changes we find this ship at an impasse. If POSes are truly to be done away with after the Citadel deployment we have an largely unprotected ship, that relies on other elements to protect it.

What I propose:

The Rorqual becomes the ultimate deploy-able Industrial Gang Support. No longer relying on other elements to protect it, it has the ability to script its Industrial Core to either use the Conventional Deployment and support a mining fleet with increased boosts, or with some heavy drawbacks, and increased fuel consumption, have the ability to deploy a much scaled down version of a pos bubble with a generous Shield EHP. Having the same qualities of a normal POS bubble, ships protected by this bubble may not use any modules, or deploy drones. There will be no Offensive abilities whatsoever, just extreme defense that lasts for a limited time. There would need to be a limitation on the ability to refuel, but also the shield should be able to last long enough that it would be inconvenient to wait until it has fallen without attacking it. Additionally, perhaps only industrial class ships could be protected by its bubble. Another idea that can piggy-back off of this one is that if, while undeployed an enemy comes within the potential sphere diameter the bubble could be engaged and cause an outward pulse based on standings, pushing them away with force just like being ejected from a POS shield when the password or standings or changed.

Pros/Cons:

Pros:

~ You make a ship what it is supposed to be, the ultimate Industrial Gang Support.
~ You no longer have extended periods of "AFK Boosting". Players play the game and have a reason to reach out for the ship.
~ It creates something for the Indy folks to look forward to, remember, this is their best, most expensive ship that really is only good for hauling ore, and boosting. Compression is useless, and it is mostly defenseless.
~ The increased fuel consumption will create a new usage for whatever fuel required. (Stront?)
~ Miners would feel more protected and ganking could be reduced, (this could be a pro, or a con)
~ Industry could get rejuvenated and Rorquals might actually become worth having for more than just mining boosts, and hauling.

Cons:

~ The ship could be exploited as a bait ship beyond its intent?
~ Industrial characters would be hesitant to use a ship that would take time to deploy a bubble in case of attack?
~ The ship is meant to rely on structures for its protection.
~ Miners would feel more protected and ganking could be reduced, (this could be a pro, or a con)

I really think the prospect of an ultimate Industrial Gang Support Capital ship would fall in line with the newer Force Auxiliary Capitals, but this could now be the Industrial Counterpart. Please, give me your constructive criticism on this, it is something I have though about for a while and I just cant think of why this wouldn't work, and be a pretty damn cool ship to have and use.

TLDR EDIT: Rorquals should be able to deploy mini pos bubbles, and be their own mobile industrial support dread. Perhaps this could be a whole new ship, like the dread of Industrial Ships, a Turtle of sorts?

Thanks for your time.

What New Eden REALLY needs is a CovOps Rorqual with Capital Gas Harvesters!

Or we keep things the way they are and you instead protect your capital ship with a fleet as intended.

Indy fleet booster with logi options? That's something wrong hiding here. OP is playing with pos nature by providing somee sort of defence. Which is CCP would never allows on that ship. All it should offer to the mining gang is ability to dock their mining shovels and warp away having added similar to Dreads warp core strengh. The only defence Rorq should offer is squadrones. Way less than carriers but still. So basically it is mining support carrier mainly weaponless but with great tanking and fleet boosting ability.
