I appreciate the advice from everyone. I lost a little training time due to recovery from surgery but am back to work on those short term items. There seems to be a soft floor for a lot of corp recruiting so I added 'hit 2M SP' as a sort of milestone to start looking for a corp.

I will just let the trial run down and take it from there. o7

Throw some level 5 support skills into the training queue (like CPU Management 5, for example) so you don't lose out on training time if you aren't able to login any given day. You can queue up multiple levels at once.

So... if you also have an idea of what I should do or am not doing in terms of prioritizing, the advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

In terms of goals, everyone is different, and I won't tell you what you should be prioritising. My short term goals typically are just training goals and get completed in a predictably short time (months...). My long term goals change per year, and usually involve stuff I want to kill, either solo or in a group. To give an example: I just completed one of my long term goals "solo kill a T2 destroyer in a magnate." I also have targets I aim to reach in a good day of playing, for example "blow up 100m ISK" and "earn 100m ISK."

I have a bit of a completist streak, I'll typically have a list of all the same type of ship I want to kill with one of my ships. For example, I have actively hunted stealth bombers stalking relic sites because I wanted to kill every single type of stealth bomber, solo in my magnate. I have completed that, currently I'm working down the list of interceptors. Yes... I like my magnate, I fly plenty of other ships as well though.

Being able to reach your goals requires a good corp. Now, your definition of "good" may change over time (it did with me) but it will usually be a group of people you can depend on and of whom you think you can still learn from after you've stuck with them for a year. If you're switching corps several times a year you need to be more selective.

Thanks again for the perspective. One thing about the game that seems clear is the array of long-term goals to work toward. I guess it's one way to keep people coming back after years.

Subbed this morning and will spend some time talking to corps. Hopefully I will find a good match.
