I would love it if it were fully integrated.

Example, the patterns for planetary interaction could actually be something else, like an image beneath an image. When we identify "cancer" formations, we put our extractors on them and get our raw materials and they get their data.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Who the F cares if CCP isn't doing it for 100% 'altruistic' reasons as long as it benefits everyone? What's wrong with doing good (furthering science) while doing good (making a profit)?

Haven't you heard? Making profits is always evil.

I think it's a cool idea. Which I will probably never participate in because it looks boring. Big smile

People do "altruistic" things on the internet all the time. For example, building Linux and Firefox. Or posting a video of how to unclog a toilet or remove algae from an aquarium on youtube. Or answer somebody's question on a message board about how to actually uninstall McAfee. Some do it for recognition, sure. But a lot just do it for... who knows what. We EVE players tend to see things in logical terms of effort vs. payout, maybe more than the general population. But for reasons only they know, people seem to happily do altruistic things on the internet, for no apparent personal gain.

Might be a viable alternative to ship spinning for some content challenged people.

As long as some good can come out of it, it'll get my vote

Eve is the dark haired, totally hot emo gothchild of the gaming community
