Please note, this is not a discussion of any particular action by the mod squad but instead refers to a glaring loophole that basically permits mods to write their own rules based on their own personal interpretation of what is permissible and what isn't.
This is flat out wrong, you can't make the rules up as you go.

You can't expect your customers to read your minds, and if you lot can't be arsed to POPULATE YOUR OWN FORUM FILTER with those forbidden words and phrases its pretty damn unfair to your customers when they think something is ok and CCP has other thoughts.

I refer you to section 19 of the forum rules.

Avoid using profanity.

Using partial masking (such as asterisks or punctuation marks) to bypass the profanity filter is prohibited and will result in the same action as if the actual word had been typed.


You can not expect people from a mix of countries around the world to know explicitly what YOU consider to be profanity.
If CCP feels something is not acceptable it NEEDS TO GO IN THE FILTER

ESPECIALLY IF IT IS NOT SOMETHING EASILY RECOGNIZABLE AS PROFANITY, AND MAY IN FACT BE A TERM WIDELY USED MY MANY PEOPLE!

Simply put do not repeat any word any good FC uses to describe your actions, fitting or general capabilities in fleet management/warfare.

this is my point, one mans comedy is another mans profanity, and this is why we have filters, so there is no question about it when a questionable word comes up.

can we get * banned also ;-p[

You mean like "your fit is ****, you're going to die in a fire"? Or "What the ****", or "******* *** ** * ***** *** ***** ** ****"?

If a word isn't filtered by the profanity filter then it's hardly our fault if you have a part list of filtered words and we stumble upon one that isn't. If anything you should simply add that word to the filter rather than go around heavy handed with the bannings because you are too incompetent and inconsistent to do your job properly.

We will remove messages that violate the forum rules. I can't recall any forum ban that was done simply because someone used a word that was not on the filter. I've been here three years (in ten days).
