Tab not working

Tab can't be used to roll-up all windows anymore. When I try to go into the short-cut menu to change this, it complains that Tab is reserved for something else.

I really liked using Tab for that as the button is easy, intuitive and quick to reach. I can quickly roll-up all windows, check something out without losing operational awareness, and then tab again to un-roll and get on with my life.

The obvious workaround is of course to use ctrl+F9. While this is a nice feature for cleaning out the entire UI for things like photoshoots and filmmaking, it just doesn't work well for quickly getting a better view of your surroundsings while keeping UI graphics for things like ships and other objects in space.

There is an option to minimize all windows, however this is less than ideal as it just hides all the windows, and than you have to get them back one... by... one... This is terrible!

If there was at least an option to quickly minimize and then un-minimize using the same button...

Give back Tab to minimize and un-minimize all windows, please!

Couldn't agree more, there are now two key shortcuts that do exactly the same thing (Tab and Shift+Tab)...

Put it back the way it was.

The place I find it most damaging, is when working with PI. To see a planet and it's interfaces, it's an absolute must to have a cleaned up UI. Previously I could use Tab to quickly roll-up windows. Now I have to roll them up individually (there's a lot of them) and then un-roll then individually when I'm back in normal fighting mode. It's very sad, especially considering how PI is already enough of a click-fest as is.

How could you even concieve of removing a function as basic as this!?! SadShockedX

It's still possible to roll up windows. Just double click on the top bar of each window, and it will roll up. However doing this one window at a time to do things like PI only adds to the mindless clickfest of it all.

Literally spent 10 minutes raging about this on teamspeak looking for the new shortcut option that doesn't exist, put it right CCP!

I have a monocle therefore my opinion matters more than yours.

The TAB functionality was incredibly useful.

It would be great to have at least a shortcut entry for it.

Please return this functionality. PI is unusable without it.

Also the Ctrl+Shift+Tab to toggle minimize all windows is worthless as it removes all windows and all chat windows are empty on restore instead of showing actual info.

All in all amazing step back for usability. Doesn't anyone at CCP actually play EVE?

Existing hotkeys are not as convenient as the previous Tab key, especially with many windows open or with some windows that are difficult to reopen quickly.

If the Tab key binding itself had to be unbound for some reason, please keep the previous Tab key function somewhere in game, and give it an alternative key binding or at least allow a user key binding.

Can't even rebind tab to it because its a locked value.... I use to use tab all the time.

This is the main problem. I can live with tab being something else (useless as it is at the moment) but the actual function is gone so no chance to remap another key. :(

Really makes me question what kind of person makes decision on UI and if they ever actually play the game.

Yep, until this is fixed the Ship Tree and map are basically unusable. I can't see anything with all the windows over what I'm trying to look at, and minimizing and restoring the windows takes too long.

The continued lack of the tab key makes everything worse.

In a game that you could as well call "Windows online" you need and want a key that instantly collapses all windows to make room for the view beyond without minimizing everything.

It was especially helpful when you only had some windows collapsed, so double tapping the tab key made everything visible again. CCPlease. Stop removing things that were working only because you want to bring something else. Expand on existing features, not kill one feature in favor of another.
