Finding assets

If an item is right clicked you can select find in contracts and view market details. How about adding a selection for Find in assets? Ofc you can open the personal assets window and go to search but you can also open contracts and do a search. If a right click option is available to search in contracts why not in assets? It just takes that much extra time and I usually just say screw it and buy a new module where ever I'm at rather than going through all my assets manually searching for things.

So why not add the same functionality for personal assets that's already available for other resources. One particular place this would be handy would be when applying a fit from the fit management window. When you don't have everything required for the fit you get a popup info window for the things missing. From that window you can right click and view market details or search for contracts for those missing items. Would love to be able to click "Find in assets" from that window so I can locate things that I already have without jumping through additional hoops and typing out searches. Maybe then I'll stop hoarding piles of modules all over new eden and use the modules I have instead of buying new ones. :)

You can always drag the module you need into the assets search bar. Same thing, same amount of clicks

If you only have one account and one toon that might be a good idea, unfortunately when I lose stuff it tends to be because I transferred it to a different toon or it's in the corporate hangars.

I fail to see how get notification -> right click -> left click is the same as... get notification -> open asset window -> go to search tab, drag item into search field -> start search...
Even if you consider it's only two more steps, opening windows and finding tabs doesn't compare with right click, left click.

When you put a full api key into eveHQ it will show your assets too and where they are. Litte advertising here but it's as good as EFT and EVEmon.

not sure why op wants to search for his assets in contracts from fitting window, while it's on market. anyway how come alt-t became such time wasted feature so you simply don't have time to use it.

Who said anything about searching for assets in contracts and wtf would I want to use a third party app? In no way does that streamline searching for something. If you want to search across multiple accounts then have at it but it has absolutely zero to do with the suggestion.
Suggestion is simple. Right click menu already has selections for find in contracts and view market info. Just suggesting adding a find in assets selection to make it easier to see if you already have something.
It never ceases to amaze me how determined people can be to argue against absolutely anything. We continue to get useless UI "improvements" like a first person camera but some actual functional and useful changes would be nice.

While we're at it - enable searching of containers in corp hangars. Not having that makes me want to go into an impotent rage just so I can rage harder because I know it's impotent.

Remove T2 BPO's or make them inventable at extreme cost.
