If you use a max run input bpc on a module invention that succeeds you will get a 10 run T2 bpc out.

Check the wiki page on invention for the details including the formulae for calculating success chance and output runs.

Max run BPC = 10 run T2 BPC for items, assuming no special inputs.

If your BPC is less than a max run, you get proportionally fewer runs on the output print (rounding down, to a minimum of 1 run).
(The proportion works the other way too incidentally, if you've managed to get ahold of a real old BPC which has over the max runs.)

Confirming Max run BPC invention input = 10 run T2 BPC output. Do not use decryptors on modules, it isn't cost effective. Do not invent modules without a max run BPC (it doesn't affect your datacore usage - the major cost of invention attempts - but it does affect your profits greatly as you get less completed T2 modules).

To get a max run BPC just jam in "999999" to the number of runs when doing the BPC copying and it'll default to max runs.

This is true for module invention. Ships are a different matter, with Ship invention use 1 run BPCs and figure out which decryptors are suitable for you - there the ME values and +runs can be worth the ISK cost of a decryptor.
