Can I get the old scanning map back?

After a 6-month hiatus I jumped back in this week and found I almost don't recognize anything there have been so many visual changes. :)

The biggest issue for me is the "new" map used when scanning with probes. I cant stand it!!! The d-scan sphere just confuses things and I cant see what I'm doing. If I open the "old" map like I used to, it doesn't show the control cube (or scan spheres) like it used to. Is there a check box somewhere I'm missing which will revert things to the old map/view?

There's an option in the settings to use the new Probe and Directional Scanner - untick it !

The problem I'm having with the new scanning map is that all the visual effects for spheres make signatures hard to see. Like if one moves the sphere over a signature the red/yellow/green dot/icon gets dimmed due to the sphere transparency.

I'm not complaining, its just that it gets tough on the eyes and now I feel my migraine right on the verge every so often after a couple of hours scanning down the chains.

It would be awesome to have an option for the dots to be "always on top" on the sphere (though not on top of the cube), or make the sphere more transparent.

Yeah, they screwed the scanning map royally in the last iteration, the box with arrows is badly lighted, the spheres are obstructing everything, the signatures dimmed like Scrooge's lamps.

Im mostly ok with the new map as its bit faster and it definitely beats the original method of scanning. My problem with it is changing distance on the spheres on the map. sometimes it doesnt always grab and let you drag and many times you end up dragging the group of probes around.

What i would like to see:

- an easy way such as a drop down to allow to quickly select probe scan range.
- The ability for players to edit the colors/brightness of the markers. While this isnt really a problem for me( though it does get a bit hard on the eyes with prolong scanning), Some players are color blind, and red and green are two colors that people are commonly color blind too. Allowing players to adjust the color and brightness would allow those that have a harder time seeing some of the colors to be able to see them in shades that are easy on their eyes.

My friend is color blind for example and some greens look shades of grey to him. which a green dot in a dark grey/black background would be nearly invisible to him. Add the effect of the sphere and you have a game of find the hidden dot.

Sometimes you are the squirrel and sometimes you are the nut. Today, you are the nut and the squirrel is hungry.

While some of the new features are cool, the look is too fuzzy and dim as opposed to crisp and sharp as it needs to be.

I always use alt to change the scanning radius of the spheres, this helps a lot with preventing 'misclicks'.

Also, how many shades of grey?

You do realize that the dscan visual can be disabled in the menus at the top?

And then when you swap to the DScan tab you have to turn it back on!

Why have 2 tabs that share settings?

I would just be happy with a hotkey that toggles the dscan visual on/off.

It's a little.. bright, but I've had no problems using it so far.
