Skill extractor? Paying money to be able to get rid of SP? Feedback?

"If you’re someone wanting to sell some skillpoints, and your character has more than 5 million total skillpoints, you will need to get a “Skill Extractor”. This item comes from the New Eden Store, but can be traded on the market as well so you can choose the option that fits you best, ISK or AUR"
CCP. (2016). "http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/skill-trading-in-new-eden/"

I understand the decisions taken based on client feedback, the strategic management people at CCP, etc, and to be honest, I support CCP when it gets to making money in new ways, because it is money that keeps this amazing game going. The idea to pay isk for skillpoints, especially for the newbros is interesting. They can fly the ships they like faster, CCP makes more cash, new people do not have to throw in much more cash in the character bazaar.

Now, what I think could become problematic (and am curious about fellow eve player's reaction), is regarding the above quoted sentence from CCP. So, in order to get rid of SP, you have to throw in real money too? Or, perhaps pay for very large sums of in-game isk for an extractor? Since we do not know the price yet of those extractors (CCP, 2016), is it perhaps not wiser CCP to actually state that way ahead of time to see the reaction of the community instead of "closer to release date" (CCP, 2016)?

I don't know guys. The idea I think is not bad, it helps newbros in particular. I just think that CCP should give more information as soon as possible regarding the price of such an extractor. Because we all know if it is too expensive, not many people will pay to get rid of skills, so that will ultimately increase the overall price for getting rid of SPs significantly. I just think that paying a fair amount of isk to inject skills while a brutal amount to get rid of them is perhaps not a wise choice (personal opinion and cautious early speculation), but I mention this now in hopes to get feedback of other capsuleers.

@ CCP: Why not allow the exchange for extracting skills for injecting skills? Ok, maybe not 1:1, but perhaps that could be another option worth considering? Instead of buying skill extractors for real money, and depending on the prices you set, so few people will buy it, meaning the prices will stay absurdly high in the in-game market (thus the reason you should announce those prices asap to get community feedback).

tl;dr: Please CCP, if you make a big change, announce the most important things way ahead and please specify the meaning of the "announce a little closer to release date", because announcing this like a week or two before release date would perhaps not give you enough time to react and do modifications upon community feedback, that is, if you even care at all.

I predict aurum rich pilots feeding vampirically from their host of minion alts.

As far as I can see, you can only buy the extractor from the NEX, so CCP gets paid for the extraction of skillpoints, then the injector gets sold on the market for isk, so the seller gets isk and then CCP tax that so they get paid again.

Its clever.

Rich pilots will get a boost in skillpoints , while the poorer ones will be able to sell a figurative kidney for isk.

Is this a bad thing? Too early to tell.

I predict that the cost of an extractor will be between 1500 and 3000 aurum. Just a guess though.

I'm looking at 65 days of capital ships 5 training....................

hmmmm

Your point is taken though OP. We do need a little more information

The extractor is sold on the NES but where do the injectors come from?

You mark skills for extraction until there are 500,000 skillpoints worth marked. Once you’re happy with the skills you have chosen, you hit Accept. Now you will have a Skill Injector in your item hangar and the Skill Extractor you used will be gone, along with the 500,000 skillpoints.""

Based on that extracted from the blog one would assume that once you have extracted the SP the extracter becomes the injector as the blog also stated that extractors are 1 use only.

No, not really. Getting into shinier ships faster is no guarantee that they're gonna know how to fit or fly it effectively. Can't wait to see the shiny losses coming out in whine threads on the forums.

Honestly, this system is no different from buying a toon on the character bazaar, but now made more dynamic. A new player buying a 200mil SP toon on the bazaar is still going to be no better off than the new player that he is, knowing very little about the game as he does.

i am in favour of this in one way but very annoyed by it. basically its taken me 10 years to get where i am now i can get a char pay for skills and have a 100mill sp char in one day if i so wish! not funny and basically ccp taking the ****

also youll have to be careful because the skill can cos considerably more than others. for example a capital skill could take the same time as a skill costing x10 less but its just converted into the same number of skillpoints. which i dont think is right

All my views are my own - never be afraid to post with your main, unless you're going to post some dumb shit

So what you're trying to say is that if you take two identical players and they follow an identical path through the game... but one of them has a capsuleer with 200,000,000 SP from day one and the other has under 1,000,000 on day one... the former has no advantage over the latter?

Ok.
