Raising the Bar (733) is one of the three ‘main’ corporations that make up the Of Sound Mind (SOUND) alliance and is currently looking for new members. We are recruiting players who want to become good PVPers in a classy environment. Our killboard can be seen at https://zkillboard.com/alliance/99000739/
We focus on recruiting players with over 15mil skillpoints. What sets us apart from other groups in the game is our culture. By “culture,” we mean our shared beliefs about what makes an environment welcoming and fun to be a part of, regardless of background, race or gender. We expect our members to know the importance of language: Racial/anti-gay/misogynistic slurs are wrong; “jew” is a noun, not a verb; and “****” describes a horrific act of real life violence, not explosions in internet spaceships.

We also expect our members to constantly be learning and improving. We have a culture of promoting smart play and intelligence choices, and we’ll help you develop as a player. SOUND is a tight-knit alliance that has been through thick and thin in basically every region of space: NPC null, sovereign nullsec, and now wormhole space. Wherever we live, we prioritize the integrity of our culture first and foremost.

Our alliance currently lives in J* (“jay-star”), the super-duper opsec name for our C2 in wormhole space! Our C4 static provides rich opportunities for both PVP and PVE, whilst the second highsec static aids our logistics. Much of our fun comes from roaming nullsec to look for small gang fights or to dunk on nullbears. Whenever we roll into another decently-large wormhole group, we’ll try to form up and get nice brawl going. We also have occasional PVE ops (site running, gas huffing, etc.) to help everyone fill up their coffers.

As a member of 733, you’ll have access to:

• Regular small gang roams and home defense ops.
• Excellent ship reimbursement program for all PVP ops.
• A friendly, knowledgeable community via our Teamspeak and IRC (internet relay chat) servers.
• Access to good PVE opportunities in the local area, and training on how to live successfully in wormhole space.

What we’re looking for in recruits:

• Either EU TZ or US TZ (our AUTZ is not highly populated sadly).
• We recruit mains, not alts.
• You have more than 15 million SP
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to adapt to our lifestyle.
• Willingness to help scan our wormhole connections to look for content.
• Patient individuals. Eve is a marathon, not a sprint - and there’s lots to do at every stage along the way.
• You share our culture, detailed above, and in our White Paper. https://www.of-sound-mind.com/
• You enjoy PVP as your primary activity. Ideally, you have at least some PVP experience in the past.
• Willing to share an API key for your account(s) so we can check you out
• Willing to move to where we live, and stay with us. This is currently in J* .
• You are willing to install and sign up for our required third party services. This includes alliance forums, IRC, and our TS3 server.
• Looking to become part of a friendly community and get to know us. The best ship is Friendship.

If the above sounds like what you’re looking for, drop by our public ingame chat channel “[SOUND]” (without the quotes) by clicking on the little text bubble icon called "open channel window" that sits on the middle bar of your chat window. Then put in [SOUND] (remember the brackets!) and hit "join." There's much more information in that channel, including current recruiters and several current members available to answer any questions.

AAR from last night, thanks Picti,

We found a PVE vagabond next door. I called for armor vexors and I was in a sabre.

We really struggled on how to get a warpin since he was boating around at twice the the speed of our cloaked helios. He finished his site and i jumped through to catch him on the warpin of the second site but a stratios ran past us all and i went for decloak instead, alerting the vaga to my prescence. This actually worked incredibly well for us because upon seeing my sabre on Dscan he decided he would be safest in his despawned anom not knowing we already had a warp in on the site.

I got him bubbled and the back up came in and burned him down. I popped just before he went down but that is a decent trade in my opinion.

TGIF roam, with Mulled Wine for a seasonable vibe.

We had a null sec exit to Perrigan Falls and found an ONI running a Frostline site with Caracal support.

Our scout got tackle on the ONI and called the fleet in. I tackled one of the Caracals while we took down the ONI. The other Caracal got away and we lost our tackle but it was a reasonable trade :)

To enjoy being a scary WH bandit join us at [SOUND] chat.

An exit to Fade tonight led to some fun:

We found a Rattlesnake running a site in a wormhole and formed up a gang to gank it.

Spectraliz had also seen the Rattlesnake and arrived at the same time as we did. In the resulting melee we blew up their tackle legion and the ratting Rattlesnake for the loss of our Bhaahlgorn and a VNI. An interesting scrap for everyone, except possibly the Rattlesnake pilot :)

Mercury and Venus are the only two planets in our solar system that do not have any moons. Although where we live in a WH there are Moons, so absolutely nothing like Mercury or Venus.

If you are looking for a new place to live, and fancy the wormhole lifestyle as well as a laid back alliance then come chat to one of our recruiters in the [SOUND] channel (including brackets), covering EU and US Timezones.
