I'm Caldari, flying a Kestrel with 3x Malkuth's and a salvager. I also have a hauler and a miner stashed away, and about 20 mil isk.

Basically, I'm not sure where to go after this epic mission arc, or even a particular goal, or ship to get, or if I should do tier 2 missions, or what. I've got fairly well developed skills for a noob, being an infrequent player previously, just under a million skill points.

Any suggestions?

There is such a lot to do in EVE and you can go down several paths.

Firstly, there is the option to run the Caldari COSMOS missions in the constellation of Okkelen which are multi-part missions designed to significantly boost standings with the Caldari state and their member corporations. Full details are available in a guide such as this one.

You can always decide to use the Agent Finder to find a suitable level 2 agent and start working towards better ships and rewards from the payouts and bounties.

there are also other cool things you can try such as Incursions, Exploration, PvP with Red vs. Blue or with Agony Unleashed.

Have fun with whatever route you take Big smile

i'd recommend you join a player corp. there is many noob friendly corps out there. Eve university is a good one to get some help and training. Red vs Blue is 2 high sec corps permanently at war with each other and good fun for newer players to learn how to pvp.

also my own alliance has corps that are noob friendly... convo mitauchi if your looking to learn what life in 0.0 is like.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

This. joining a player corp will give yo direction. Try to find one that has similar views and experience in what you want to do to make ISK in the game.

dont do this, cosmos missions are infact significantly diverse, and without proper research, you will fail them and be unable to attempt then again as they are 1 time only missions with the majority of them interlinking, fail one fail them all. and with the diversity some will only require an interceptor, others will require a fleet of battleships complete with logicstics, and still others will take you into low and nullsec systems that are more or less permenatly camped by peeveepee'vers that live to kill people attempting COSMOS missions

Personally I'd just look for a good level 1 agent and start doing missions.

I wouldnt bother salvaging and looting the missions, just try and blitz them as fast as possible to get to level 2 missions.

Then take your time with a cruiser on lvl 2's, by then you should have a more comfortable idea about what you like doing.

By the way.. worth starting up some basic Planetary Interaction going, its cheap, passive.. and worth the extra bit of income

One of the best things about eve is it is an entirely self-directed experience. There is no order of quests to get to the next area, you pick your goals and pursue them.

Another important thing about eve is that it is better with friends.

If you want me to set an arbitrary goal for you, sure.

Within two months, be the leader of a corp consisting of 20 people you have never met in real life, from at least two different major timezones (for example, American and European) and have wardecced a corp and forced them to either pay you 100mil isk to go away or disband.

Go! Report back in two months, or when you succeed.

Or, ignore my goal and set your own. But tell us what it is?

i like that unlike most others u havent rushed to PVP to die and rage at losing your awsome (fail) fit cruiser..
i reccomend getting some isk, via missions or mining, your preference missions tend to give more isk though... join a mission running corp or and tag a long to get standings and isk
later on you will probably get into PVP or stay in your industry corp, or hell join a WH corp or FW... its what you want. some people have fun doing nothing all day but mining/trading
others only play eve to talk about killboard stats.

personally all i do play eve to discuss stuff on the forum about the universe we all play in.

I dont actually think its a good thing, sure later on when your experienced, but not when you've just started the game. You do need an obvious path to follow and its a frustrating feeling when your new.

I know the NPE has changed dramatically since I first started, but if we still have players asking "what next" then the NPE is still a long way off.

You must be a boring person to have at a party.

I've made more off of Salvage, than Mission rewards in almost all cases. I also have Nego IV, so I do get more than base for Missions. Salvage is the way to go, and then before you do a lazy sell, do some research, and sell where someone is buying that Burnt Trigger Unit for 105M ISK.
