A few years back CCP released a sneak peak into development of a new PC game called Eve Legion. Scince then there has been little information or updates about the product. Does anyone have any idea if it is approaching open beta or even full release ?

Nurse, you can stop looking.

Found him!

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Legions trademark was dropped and it is unlikely that Dust will ever move to the PC platform.

Based on murmuring from former devs and CPM members, the most likely course of action is that the game will simply die on the PS3 platform after being bled out for as long as possible. The game COULD be ported and that avenue has been explored by CCP but it would require substantial investment as they would want to upgrade engines. This entire idea is currently not favored by CCP as they are chasing the trend of VR more than anything, and should they find success in that field it is unlikely that they will abandon it for anything else.

If the game was ported it would most likely be to the PS4 system and not PC, as a PC release would require a large anti-hack team to constantly monitor the game. The game currently has a skeleton crew working on it which hasn't been heard from in months, so its highly unlikely something like that would ever be in the budget.

Never believe what CCP tells you at a fanfest until it is released.

The legion trademark was dropped. (funnily enough, a while later, WoW Legion was announced.)

CCP have released no information about a possible PC port, other than what was said at that Fanfest.

As said the Trademark was dropped. Does this mean anything? no not really.

Logiclly why it doesn't mean anything:

When CCP showed off EVR at fan fest 2013 the fans in attendance went nuts. By day 2 CCP had decided to green-light and start work on an official game. Valk was born.

Flash to 2014, CCP had heard the rumblings of eve players that Dust needs to be on pc. CCP decided to see if the players want it. So thinking lightning might strike twice, and being ready to run with it if it was well received, CCP trademarked EVE: Legion. When it was announced, Twitch chat exploded with cheers, and excitement. EVE forums went crazy with cheers and excitement...

Dust forms, Dust player sin Twitch, and Dust players at FF.. not so much. The back lash made CCP take pause, and most likely stopped a green-light announcement form happening.

Flash to dropping the TM. Legion has a bad taste in its mouth for some dust players, so with it in peral, ccp decided to drop it. This could mean many things, form Legion being renamed when its finally a go, to it being dropped. Its difficult to say what.

CCP has said a few times that 'its still a thing' but there is nothing to show. You cna take this how you want, but the general thoughts are:

1) CCP shifted focus to Valk to get it out, and let legion chill so they did not taint valks launch.

2) Dust became profitable, so CCP has dropped the idea of legion

3) Dust is profitable, so instead of killing the cow giving milk before your next cow is ready, they are hush on it, but are working on it slowly.

4) Legion is Dead, and dust will die soon too

5) Legion is getting a name change

and 6) legion is dead, but dust will be ported as is to ps4/pc.

There is not enough general data to know for sure either way. I think we will hear soemthing at fan fest. but we will see.

Maybe lay off the "420" a bit and you won't keep on imagining fictitious software, perhaps?

The more recent the CPM member you bother talking to, the less enthusiastic they are in general.

That should tell you something about the state of affairs currently.

People will speculate, while we dont even get one word, one picture about it from CCP.
Its better to forget about it for now. Play DUST, its the closest Legion like game outthere.

That's not the case.

You are speculating on that. I am not.

Remember that Valkyrie was at first a side project run by a small crew of about five people. Hopefully CCP can see the potential of Legion and will continue working on it, even if it takes another few years.
