Wardens missing battleships at 100km range? That's just an outright lie. If your wardens are missing battleships frequently, I'd file a bug report.
Also, share the golem fit that does 1100 missile dps at 120km range please.

Golems (and indeed all marauders) have their advantages. I know they do. I use them all. But the fact remains the rattle has the highest dps, and applies it well at any range. Not sure what's going wrong with your figures, but in eft and in game my dps shows 1556 with gardes and furies. That's with +5 imps and not-quite perfect missile skills (cruise spec at 4, all other relevant skills at 5).

And no, you don't lose a minimum of 20% hitting a secondary resist hole. Have a look at the resistance charts and go back to your math.

Except for ewar heavy missions, I always clear faster in rs than I do in any marauder, with the exception of paladin in some missions.

Yes, I kid you not. And that was with a 17.5% tracking bump as well. I was so disgusted I ditched my Rattlesnake and went back to plugging away with my Kronos (there are other aspects of the Rattlesnake that I detest, so the poor drone application was just the final nail in the coffin).

Fine, here's the 'gist' of my Golem fit (little pun there):
4x Cruise Missile Launcher II, Fury cruise missiles
4x Dread Guristas Ballistic Control System
1x Large Warhead Calefaction Catalyst II
1x Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst I
2x Missile Guidance Computer II, precision-scripted
1x Sensor Booster II, range-scripted

1083 DPS with +5 implants; 1105 DPS with +6 implants.
+102 DPS with Augmented Hornets.

That's 1083-1105 missile DPS out to effectively any mission range which jumps to 1185-1207 DPS within 30-40km with the addition of a flight of light drones. Since Golems can apply 100% specific damage, there's no loss (even against cruisers). I occasionally switch to Precision after wiping out all battleships to mop up any Elite cruisers and frigates, and I do realize I take about a 400 DPS hit when doing so. At extreme ranges - even with the missile velocity bonus you do have to continuously count volleys to avoid overkill, which is the only tedious part.

Against drones I will occasionally split launchers into two groups with Mjolnir and Scourge/Nova, because most drone battleships have two primary and secondary weaknesses for shield and armor.

The difference between applying damage to a 40% or 50% resistance is not 10% but 20%, ie: 5000 damage @40% resistance means 3000 damage gets through. 5000 damage @50% resistance means 2500 damage gets through. That's a difference of 20% mate, so you may want to re-check your math.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

NO NPC's have zero resistance to any kind of damage, let alone zero resistance to the same kind of damage on shield, armor, and hull. There is ALWAYS loss.

Its all about number of volleys needed to kill and time between volleys.

Its why a Vargur that can take 2 shots to kill a BC is still faster than a Golem that can kill them in one.

internet spaceships

are serious business sir.

and don't forget it

Yes, I am quite aware of that. My point was that applying kinetic damage to a ship that has an explosive weakness is going to rob you of 'paper' DPS (as an example). Typically the difference between primary and secondary resistance types is 20% until you get into hull. And you're actually incorrect. Elite Drone Parasites have a 0% EM shield resistance and 50% explosive armor resistance. There are a few other instances, but these are the exception rather than the rule.

I believe most Caldari ships have 0% shield resistance.

Edit: A few guristas ships. Just look them up - http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/npc_ships.php?supergroup=14&return_to=
