You just have to quit all at once. Nicotine withdrawal lasts about 24 hours and you're in the clear afterwards.

Here's something that might help: a friend of mine is quitting (it has been a few weeks now) and the other day it was raining here and she commented on how she could, for the first time in a long time, smell that "rain smell" like she used to when she was a kid. A small victory indeed but every little bit helps.

From what I've heard from friends going through it now, once you're past the withdrawal symptoms it becomes a case of working on disassociating smoking from activities like drinking. It gets easier with time but one retired lady giving my friend advice said you can't have even one cigarette while trying to quit, which makes a lot of sense.

I should think about getting some sleep. 3:30am.

Stayed up late to get myself a fresh pair of heavy shield Tengus. I didn't replace the last ones I lost, really missed flying them. We have a new heavy shield doctrine in corp and I don't like it much, I raged about it a little during discussions and ultimately refused to adopt it, lol. The new doctrine is great when employed with the full fleet that's designed to support it, but I use my Tengus for so much more than big fleet stuff; Everything from solo and small gang, right up to fleet fights, and my fit is much more versatile than the doctrine one.

Fortunately I was given special snowflake license to keep flying my own fits. Pirate
