I was bored and scrolled through the last tab "about eve" in settings.

Does someone knows what it is about the special acknowledgment to Georgia?
(Almost at the end)

In the past few years, Georgia has been making a huge push to grow their entertainment/media industry by offering tax incentives to local developers.

ccp still has the Atlanta office, though i think its on a skeleton crew/diminished. But because they use Carbon and other old WoD tech in eve, they place the Georgia logo in there stuff to get, as already mentioned, a tax break

That's a reference to White Wolf.

There used to be this weird, gothic 3D graphics company in Atlanta called White Wolf. Originally they were a table-top RPG group. Since CCP has a lot of people who like weird, gothic 3D art, they bought the company and started this big gaming project with them called "World of Darkness". However, while that was going on, they often would poach devs and artists from White Wolf to work on EVE stuff, especially when there were big new EVE release deadlines coming up. The mention on the About screen is a nameless nod to those guys.

WOD never went anywhere and over time White Wolf gradually imploded, so CCP finally sold off the remaining assets to Paradox last year. Here is an article on the sale and future plans that Paradox has:

The economy in Iceland is in decline. Has been for a while. A long while. Their credit rating is atrocious compared to Australia, and one could even argue it's atrocious in general, so I don't blame 'em. If it's to stay in business and keep EVE running, power to em. Do what you have to guys.

Last time I checked, CCP is private company. Its different than banks or government, which were the reason of shenanigans with Icelandic debt back in the day. Its bittervets that have those "trust issues".

Georgia is nice.

But Atlanta has been an overcrowded nightmare since the mid 1990s. It competes with Jacksonville Florida for how trailerpark/ratchet a city can get.
