so, i live 100% in null-sec. I have a couple extra alts who live where ever I need them to, in order to cyno or feed me fitted ships from the nearest trade hub/etc.

Anyways.... I was wondering why jump bridges aren't allowed...non pvp/pve jump drives that is. ...

I completely understand that pvp/pve capitals aren't realistic in high sec..and ok so from a role play perspective concord banned jump-capable ships for that reason..?

But what about industrial jumpers, rorqual/jump freighter?

I guess (even though I don't own these ships and don't plan on owning them) I don't see why they aren't allowed to jump unrestricted.

I understand not allowing cap ships and black ops as they would open up hot drops on noob corps and thats lame. I feel would hurt the game.

I would like to make a case for indy jumpers though. I understand the counter argument of ...thats what a freighter is for...but that doesn't dissuade me from wanting someone who has paid as much as they have for a jump freighter to be able to utilize their ship.

I can't listen to boo hoos about, nerfing ganks...ganking industrials is zzzzz........really.

Because it would break regional economies. I live about 4 jumps from a trade hub in a station that is severely undersupplied on ammo. When I buy ammo, I put up a buy order with a minimum qty of 100,000 units, range station, expiration 24 hours, at a price around the lowest sell order. I get what I want, when I want, where I want, for the price I want. Whoever's filling that order is selling what they've got, at the price they want, and instead of having to babysit sell orders for as long as it takes, they just have to haul it 4 jumps. We both win.

If, instead, I just bought the cheapest ammo being sold anywhere in the universe and JF'd it straight home, I have more hassle jumping, and someone else loses out entirely. I'd probably do that anyway because I'd save some isk.

And I'm just a single person buying for personal use. People operating on a large scale would wipe out distance as a factor for the market, wiping out niches all over New Eden. Niches should exist, and it's right that they do exist. A starting trader in their iteron would never be able to compete with someone who owns a JF if it was allowed.

Cause cyno fields destabalize the local sec status and will drop it to low sec if you were allowed to use cyno's in high sec.

say whaaat?!?!

Yeah, it doesn't matter to me either way. I'd like to think jump freighter pilots could get the perk of insta based on the skill point/isk investment versus you're 1 month old freighter alt. freighter costing 800m versus the 4.5 bill of the JF.

Liquid ozone and racial jump fuel prices would see a rise. I don't see 1000s of jf pilots coming out of the wood work for the reason of the price tag and such.

but yeah its all the same. whatevs.

Not reading that wall of text, but from the thread title I can formulate this response: There are many jump drives in highsec. Jump freighters and black ops come to mind, but you're probably referring to cyno's without knowing the correct terminology.

Jump freighters are able to jump about highsec rather nicely, you just put up a cyno near in a lowsec connected to highsec and you can jump from highsec to that lowsec.

What the....?

no, i'm talking about jumping from high sec to high sec.

I mean if you think about it... its all space right? So I was thinking ..what in game prevents jump drives from high sec..all I could think of was concord....although..................they should make it so jump drives are allowed...yet if you do...concord would concord you're ship...ofcourse...no one would though. Anyways.

Yup. I don't see a problem w/ having caps in high sec right now personally. The jump/cap in empire denial mechanic was conceived before wardecs got nerfed out of existence and 0.0 actually meant something. They may as well allow it now...

Cyno = titans can play too.

There is no place for capitals in high sec,it will just result in a slaghter of the high sec masses and make 0.0 logistics too easy.

what about honor tanked dreads? Or carriers as haulers? Or titans as jump clone bays?

I know you're not making a specific proposal, (because to do that, you'd be posting in F&I, right?) but EVE is better with no cynos in highsec. Trying to make exceptions (industrial only, black ops only, etc) just opens a can of worms and unintended consequences without truly adding value to the game. In fact, fast travel reduces the value of effort, and opportunities for interaction.

And how many millions are we talking about an hour with t2 mining drones?? 100m/hour 400m/hour ? lol
