I just got back from an advance screening of 13 hours. It's a film about the 2012 Benghazi attack that killed Sean Smith AKA Vile Rat. It was a very intense and emotional film. I was surprised at how well done it was considering Michael Bay directed it. The film will be released on the 15th of January.

I didn't know Vile Rat, but I know many of you did, so I thought I'd pass this info along.

how political is it vs an action flick? i.e. is it more propoganda or more a 'gung ho shoot em up'.

Much more of an action flick. Very much a suspenseful / tense / thriller sort of thing, while still keeping a tone that is respectful of the fact that real people died 3 years ago. There's some light political commentary in the dialog between the soldiers (security contractors are soldiers, right?), but it's not like American Sniper where the whole movie is all about making an overarching social commentary.

He wasn't playing a FPS when the attack started.

He was on EVE.

Very good film and not all political. But depending on which side of the fence you are on, you can find something to cry about.

RIP Vile Rat

A film worth seeing. I saw it for the Vile Rat connection and am glad I did.
