I'm not gonna lay it out module for module but I'd go roughly like this: -

Abaddon btw, nestor isn't great for missioning.

Rig
Discharge elu x2
CCC x1

High
ALL the mega pulse lasers

Mid
afterburner OR mwd
Cap recharger x3

Low
Heat sink x3
Reactive armor hardener
EANM
EANM OR cap power relay OR tracking enhancer
Large armor rep

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Pretty much what Moonlit said and definitely skip the Nestor. For the amount of isk you would have to spend to make the Nestor (not to mention the cost of the ship itself) even come close to working you better off investing in a Palladin.

I (read: my main) gave the Nestor a go a while back just for s@$ts and giggles and, to be perfectly honest, it's a good thing I'm something of a collector Roll

Edit: grammar, doh!!

Nestor - ship without purpose...

Paladin - good but long training time so bring Nightmare and rule in level 4 missions!

So i've got a modified version of that ready to fit in EFT which i'll post later but it's got 335 healed DPS and deals 541 DPS with EM 65 therm 55 kin 48 and exp 45 resistances? this good enough for soloing level 4's in high sec?

The fit will vary in performance with skills. And bear in mind the reactive armor hardener will improve your resistances as you're getting shot. In missions it's usually only 1 or 2 types of damage so you get 30% or more in those resistances.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

If you are going to spend a wad of cash on something to be massively OP for high sec PvE, why not just get the ship that is massively OP for null sec PvE while you're at it? The T3 cruiser.

Drop that billion isk for a Nestor on a Tengu and you can solo The Maze 10/10 combat site. There is certainly no high sec PvE short of Incursions that will even dent your shields.

Then you can refit, go explore and hack sites, cloak up and run amok in low or null sec, even act as a fleet booster if you want to run PvE with friends. With something like the Tengu, you can even switch between missiles and turrets.
There can be more to PvE than just minimizing the time you do it, and more than L4's for content in this game.

Having said that- why wouldn't you just go with a faction BS? The Rattlesnake is pretty much the new Ishtar for AFK grinding. I tried one out and it was hilariously OP with just T2 fittings.

IMO get a Caldari BS 1 and use Nightmare if you feel like using Amarr BS skill and lasers. If you aren't missioning in Sansha/BR-heavy regions, then anything from Gallente ship line will be better, I suppose.

Nightmare, Navy geddon/apoc way better than baddon. Nestor is just not that great for missioning.

As I said: if you plan to mission in Amarr space - get Nightmare, if you plan to mission in different empires - get Rattlesnake or Barghest. There is no need to train Marauders or pick up T1/faction battleships when pirate hulls are relatively cheap now and they outperform T1/faction hulls by a large margin.

If you decide to stick with amarr ships for now, get a navy apoc, abadon isn't great for missions.

I am roleplaying soe faction and what is the best fit for Nestor for level four missions? I know that it is not the best choice, but I am not trying to maximize my income. Just enjoying the SOE ship collection. I cannot fly it yet, but I will be able soon.

I would never condone the usage of a nestor, lv4 missions in particular. But since you're an RPer you're beyond saving anyways. So i give you the Nostromo

Engagement range is +-70km. Use the LMJD to get range, deploy drones of choice (All of them can hit, to varying degrees of effectiveness, at 70km) and kill. This fit even has a little bit of headroom should your fitting skills not be quite up to scratch. It's also perfectly safe as well since no lv4 mission has ships that can stop your LMJD and you have an align time (At max skills) of 6.6 seconds. So when the sh*t hits the fan, just pop your LMJD and GTFO.

I like the Napoc...for level 4 missions works well. I used to use an Abby, but they shafted the armor resistance bonuses a while ago :(

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.
