T1 frig tournament

Hey guys

In our corp we are having a T1 frig tournament where only T1 frigs (no navy or pirat ships) and T1 modules (no faction/deadspace/officer modules but you can get meta 4).
The same goes for drones, charges and rigs.

You still can use synth boosters and/or implants.

Fights are 1vs1 duells on a bookmark.

What ships would you fly for such a tournament? I can need some inspiration :)

are you allowed to warp at random ranges?
do you have to fit warp disruptors to prevent other player warping out?


if the answer to the above questions is no, i would only fly mwd frigs fit to kite or anti kite. brawler with ab will be sitting duck at random ranges, and if kiter doesn't have to fit long point thats a free midslot for him.

You are not allowed to warp after the match has started.

So you think about some long range missiles? Whats about ECM?

Are ECM/maintance drones worth it for such a fight?

To disable an oponents mwd you could install a warp scrambler but I think this isn`t worth it.

^^ this fit will be hard to beat in a t1 fitted frig even if fight starts at zero and you do get scrammed. with overheated masb and invul you get 240ehp/s tank per masb, which comes to 5.5k ehp per reload. most t1 frigs won't manage that kind of dps so you can just pulse them and you should be able to live through reloads.

EDIT obviously you try to kite if you can. if fight starts at zero have your mwd overheated before you warp in and activate as soon as it starts.

you may start at random ranges.

This is a nice bracher fitting though i have minmatar frig V, but won`t it lack on dps? And you aren^t allowed to use navy cap boosters.

That Breacher fit has a tank that most t1 frigates cant touch, but it also only has about 95 DPS so you will have a hard time killing anything in it also.
IMO it is a nice fit, but it will be lacking in sustainability from the rockets large volume as well as needing to keep cap booster charges. Its limiting point is its cargo hold, where as many of the other frigates will be limited by there capacitor.

If you can't warp, then my choice would be autocannon fitted double ancirep nanopumped MWD punisher. Just for the lulz of it.

Maybe a MWD Tristan at range and kite him from 30+ out would be a good idea, though it wouldn't be fun for your opponent,


Edit: As point no warping means you can be out at max range and still apply DPS without threat of your opponent warping away, which means you need Range+Speed to win, Tank and DPS don't really mean much if your opponent can not actually hit you.


Countering that type of fit would be Damps, not ECM you want to pull him into your range.

Edit2: Don't use rep drones, you can't target yourself with them. You would only heal your opponent
