I think perhaps funding him was not a great idea. The time you spent making small amounts of isk and losing cheap stuff when you start are where you learn all your lessons. Jumping straight into Freighters having no learnt all the lessons he needed to about hauling or eve in general for that matter was probably not wise.

That being said. Don't discourage him. just don't GIVE him anything more. We'll soon see if he really wants to play.

With the moving of this thread over to the C&P it is essential you tell your friend to post here as well, explaining his side of the story. The idea of this exercise is to let him analyze his actions that led to the event. In the process it is also vital that he expresses himself freely, basically letting us know what sort of feelings this event has produced in him. Especially emotions such as grief, anger, sorrow, loss and hate should be expressed with as many details as possible.

Along with the potential therapeutic value this holds for himself, it is not uncommon for the C&P folk to express sympathy towards the victim. Even raising isk among this subforum's gentle community for the good of the victim is not unheard of.

I can confirm that. When we had some asshats ruining innocent man's reputation we did our best to make sure that he won't be shunned and short on options in his way in EVE.

Would read again, +1. I'm not sure how I'd react if my friend called me and asked to borrow isk because he's being ransomed...probably to die quietly please, I'm at work.

Anyway, hope you buddies work through the tough eve learning curve. Good luck.
