PI: inputs not routing out of storage

In some cases inputs do not seem to be being routed automatically out of storage to a processor, even though there is a route in one of my colonies.

So, for example,

I have an Advanced Industry Facility 8W-5A5 with a schematic for producing Polyarimids. It already has in it 40 units of Oxidizing Compounds, so it needs 40 units of Industrial Fibers to get started.

I had 40 units of Industrial Fibers in the Storage Facility which had a link with a destination pointing to 8W-5A5.

Nevertheless, the Industrial Fibers did not seem to be moving into 8W-5A5.

I tried doing an expedited transfer from the storage facility into 8W-5A5 and that worked and production started.

Why was the input not routing automatically out of the storage facility?

Do inputs have to be matched? In other words, was the problem that I ONLY had Industrial Fibers in the storage facility, while the Oxidizing Compounds were already there? Do inputs always have to be moved out of storage in matched sets?

Routes are specific to the item you want routed, not the facility. So if you have 2 products in one storage facility, each needs to have a route created to lead to your processing facility.
