I have EVE mail telegram sam with the necessary details.

In case anyone else is interested, I wrote a short story for the Eight Thousand Suns in New Eden category titled "Vitoc, Liberation and Revenge"

It's about a Minmatar slave and the daily occurrences he has, and what life is like after getting released.

The story can be read at http://bridgersmusings.com/vitoc-liberation-and-revenge-abridged/Big smile

Ha-hah! Callista! Sorry flaming phantom, everybody, I missed a day yesterday entering any stories and linking them. All posted, linked, and ready for reading now.

Entries incoming pretty thick over the past few hours. 30% maybe in the 3.9 weeks of the contest, 70% in the last 0.1 week. That's how it gets done! Smile o7 Still some a little time to go.

Alright, buzzer has sounded, writing period is done! Twelver or so new entries in the last day. Of those, five entered in the last hour of the contest. And among those, entered at 23:59! Outstanding!

Next step: If your story hasn't been posted as an entry on the contest site, it will be soon. Please check back and make sure your entry appears on the site, in the correct category. If your story isn't there, it's not in the contest. Help me out with the QA stuff, all writers.

After that: Judges' work begins. Updates on the progress of judging and other things will be posted on the site. Possible on a new page, with a message board or something.

Then: Winning stories announcement. Realistically, we shouldn't expect judging to be done for 3-4 weeks. Judges have to read every story, in their extra time when they don't have either RL or EVE commitments. And most of the stories just flew in and became available for reading in the past few days.

Congrats to all who crafted up a completed work! Looking forward to reading.

Big thanks to Telegram Sam - I look forward to this contest every year.

Also huge thanks to the judges and the sponsors for your hard work and generosity.

I'm honored that both of my stories placed this year. Congratulations to all the winners, particularly Voodoo and Sugar against some of the stiffest competition I've seen so far.

A big thank you to Telegram Sam, the judges and the sponsors. This was my first entry into the contest and I literally submitted minutes before the deadline. I'm super happy with 3rd place, but will of course work to crush my enemies, see them driven before me and hear the lamentation of their women next year. I fully expect to continue this year's story :)

Woot!!! Both of my stories won an Honorable Mention!

When I am at my next job interview and they ask how good is my english writing skills, I will just casually drop that I won in a fiction contest Cool

Thanks to the Judges work, and big thanks to Telegram Sam and the sponsors too.

I should have bet on the winners. My guess on the Grand Prize was correct, and all the 8000 Suns category winners too (although mixed some of the second and third prize winners). Was also good at guessing the Swear and Curse category winners but not the order, but not so much with the Day in the Life ones Smile

My overall experience with the Pod and Planet Contest is the same like with EVE Online. I wish i knew about it sooner Cool

On behalf of the filthy few of Sadistic Empire, I would like to congratulate those who who won.

Thank you to all the participants, there is a lot I haven't read yet but have but have enjoyed those that I have so I can't say I envy the judges who had to make the tough decision on calling winners.

Special thanks to our event starter, Telegram Sam. Event starters like him are those who help keep this community alive and of course our fellow supporters who believe in such things and keep supporting events.

Thanks for having us as one of your sponsors and look forward to you guys next time!

Thank you Sam, sponsors, and beloved judges once again for another successful contest!

I look forward to receiving and promptly sacrificing my clattering of Jackdaws in the not too distant future (best prize!).

The space dollar is also much appreciated.

Thanks again and happy holidays.

That clattering would be courteous of MysteriousAlt. He/she is a sly and merry jokester, really fun to work with, and quite generous too. Who knows what sly merriment lurks in the heart of MysteriousAlt? We shall see.... Smile

To anyone still watching, don't to forget to check out Zendane's audio recording of the Voodoo Williams's "A Spider in Her Web." Ought to be a challenging project, considering how the story is divided into passages with various voices. No spoilers, but Zendane's a seasoned veteran at this, so.... The Eve Reader Podcast.

I was completely blown away finding that I had won First Place in the Day in the Life category. I am humbled to be picked from among all the other very worthy competitors. A big thanks to the judges for putting their time into this!

I salute all the other writers - just putting in a story, whether it won or not, took creativity, guts and the ability to see the task through, and I am greatly enjoying reading through all of them.

See you all back here next year!
