Mac version unplayable - crashes

Like the subject line says: crashes render this game pretty much unplayable on a mac without the near certainty of crashes during even the smallest actions (ie. opening up the market or changing channel tabs), much less blobs. All while running one client at a time of course, as more than that is suicide. This is inexcusable, please fix.

Hello, the same here. I've tried both Mac client and wine version and both are terrible. Game crashes or freezes completely randomly. Mac EVE launcher starts the game only one out of four tries.

I do not know if they didi anything during this past week, but before winter holidays everything was more or less ok.

Mac client still messed up.

I gave up months ago and just run Windows 7 in bootcramp. Not sure why they even bother with offering a MAC client. Love the game though!

Under "Settings", try changing the "Multi Launch" to at least 1 second (1.5 seconds recommended). Not sure if this will solve your issue, but I found anything less than 1 second locks up my system.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Is CCCP considering to fix this or not?!?

This client crashes hourly. "Exception raised" pops up frequently. You lose drones when ratting, you don't dare to use expensive ships as you may lose them because of crashes, you lose the enjoyment of the game...

Hello,

I recommend using Wine together with the Windows Eve client.
This setup runs smooth and stable (for me). No crashes.

Two weeks ago I tested the Mac client again (because of the new launcher).
The Mac version of the new launcher runs well. But the Mac Eve client crashed twice within 10 minutes testing. So I deleted it again.

The same story with Crashes every couple of minutes.

I'm using an Eve Online Windows client via Crossover - works great. The only issue is that you cannot enter Captains Quarters.

Couple of times I've tried to set up Eve Windows client via Wine (WineBottler & WineHQ), but that wasn't successful: the launcher could not find an Internet connection. Don't know what's the problem.

I got a vast improvement in stability by turning off anti-aliasing. Space works well. I haven't tried CQ without anti-aliasing yet, because it crashed so hard with AA on that I'm avoiding it.

Here is how I got it running with winebottler, works really well except few minor issues: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=464631

I was having frequent crashes due to my socket connection closing while playing over wifi. I'd recommend plugging in if you can.

I switched a day ago and haven't had any crashes since. I also have my settings set for memory performance and things like caching disabled.

I play in a window and frequently tab out and still haven't had issues.

I'm going to chime in here as well.

Just came back in December, both the the main client launcher and the launcher that allows multiple accounts to run at the same time are having random crashes, or more so freezing that keeps the UI open, while logging you out and requiring a force quit.

I'll be submitting a ticket, but if it helps any devs reading this (and Mac users too) I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro (mid-2012) running a 2.6 GHz i7 with 16 Gb 1600MHz DDR3 and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB.

Well, disabling anti-aliasing may have improved my stability, but it's still unpardonably crash-y. There's nothing quite like finding that out when you're ten jumps deep in low sec.

Furthermore, if I launch a second client--say, a scout, because I'm 10 jumps deep in lowsec--then one or the other client freezes at the next session change taken by either client. This obviously makes the scout useless. (There's a two second delay for multi-launch, but this happens even when I launch a client an hour after the first one.)

The game is absolutely gorgeous, and single-client performance is smooth until it crashes, but right now, when I need to get out of lowsec and move to null, it's unplayable. This is the first time the game has ever been unplayable for me. I've sent a report every time the exception dialog has come up, but sometimes the freeze is for long enough in dangerous enough space that I can't afford to wait for it.

I suppose I should start looking at the options involving the Windows client.

Is there anything else I can do? I haven't figured out how to send a bug report from a frozen client. I have logging turned on in the Launcher.

Lost a pricey pod thanks to one of these client freezes today. Doubt there's any chance of reimbursement because, what do you know, the crashlog and session log that were generated were both 0 bytes long. gg ccp

Not bothering with a bug report because there's not much to say and no logs to send (see above). The client sometimes freezes when I click on it. More clicking = more chance of a freeze.

Guess I'm trying out the Windows client.

These crashes are against the will of God!

update, kinda sorta:
Lately I've been running a Wineskin-wrapped Windows client for pvp, and it works very well. For other activities I've been trying out new launcher for the Mac client, and running that I haven't yet been able to reproduce the random freezing that I used to experience daily on my old cloned client.

My Mac client problems are either tied to this character (settings, maybe?) or were caused by the now obsolete cloned client. Guessing it's the latter but I'm not really keen to find out either way.
