Manufacturing contracts

I have lots of blueprint of all kind and most of them can actually produce some usefull stuff. But I have no indy skill on any of my toon which make them bpc/bpo useless to me.

I think manufacturing contract could be cool.

This could work this way :

One party have the blueprint but not the skills to produce the thingy and would create a public manufacturing contract with and how many runs want to be done (which would be bellow the maximal bp runs count of course). Then someone with industrial skills would accept it, bring the material (an estimator of the lowest reward recommended covering the production costs depending on the skills would be nice) and just open the indutrial tab and see an option 'use contract blueprint' to produce the thingy. Then the produce would be delivered direclty in the client's hangar.


What do you guys think of it ?

Actually, I'm a bit ambiguous about this idea. I kinda like the idea of a manufacturing contract in general, but I think that currently just an item transfer works for now.

What I don't like is for the contractor to use the client's BP's directly.

There always needs to be a risk with contracting with non-alts. One of the risks for this idea needs to be the BP. A good manufacturer will already have a decent BP ready anyway (that's why you're hiring them in the first place, right?), but if a client really wants to have it 'done their way' badly enough, then she can just risk a BPC to give to the contractor.

I've been a proponent of drastic expansions to the contract system for some time. Where this concept is concerned, I'd be more inclined to use something of a nested contract where you get something now and you promise to give up something later and there's a collateral involved if you don't follow through.

A nested contract would also be good for collaterlized loans and many other things. Want to borrow some isk? Sure, this here contract says you can borrow a million isk if you put up your favorite corax as collateral. You get your corax back when you pay back the second number I typed in. Just click the button to accept the wonderful loan offer & let me deal with having one less free contract slot until you finally pay it back or the timer expires in two weeks.

Remove T2 BPO's or make them inventable at extreme cost.

Unless you're building T2, T3, capital or, worse, storyline mods.

I'm talking about T2/capital stuff mainly but i also don't want to spend training skills time to build things

either learn manufacturing skills and build it yourself, or sciency skills, and sell BPC's

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it [u]WILL[/u] be.

Yes, i was in an corp that was like that, they had an spreadsheet, people look at then make whats on there, and at the end of the week you would have get pay.

I think this would make be good, it should be like the courier contract, you ether gime them the materials or they have to source them selfs, and an blueprint of couse, set an collateral. Log in few days later i get information about it.

Would also be nice to br8 ng back locked BPs

Additional idea I should've mentioned - When setting up a contract, add an optional limiter to require minimum standings just like they have in open fleets. So, anyone in your chosen group of people (except that one ******* who nobody likes) can accept your contract.

Remove T2 BPO's or make them inventable at extreme cost.
