Server Issues and my petition

Hello all.

I am starting to get rather tired of the constant socket closed problems. It has started to prevent me from taking on anything risky in the game in fear of the socket randomly closing.

And before anyone says its my internet it isnt. I have a rock solid 200 Meg fiber connection that no other games have issues with.

Also over a week to respond to a petition is not really acceptable customer service.

If you are upset about thee wait times on a petition (which can take anywhere from 24 hours to 60 days depending on the issues and the amount of investigation involved.) you can open the petition and post a follow up question. Posting about your wait on the forums will not move the petition up the line.

As for the socket closed issue you are experiencing, I would suggest following the guidelines posted in this CCP handy dandy support page. https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/201827699--The-Socket-was-closed-message

Socket closed issues can be cause by the things outline in the support page. Your internet may be fine in every other area but your firewall may be restricting the port EVE uses. It is also common practice for ISP's to monitor traffic and restrict flows of certain network traffic under the guise of Network Management. There can even be issues with the ISP servers/routers/hardware. It could also be a backbone issue with the ISP.

Sometimes a traceroute can show where the packet loss is occurring and give you a good idea where the issue is.
