Post Patch "uh oh's"

CCP, Dev's...

Do you ever change stuff back after a patch when you realize you changed something that worked fine in the game. For example:
-Overview Icons (NPC Crosses to Chevrons, Asteroids etc.)
-Scanning (need sunglasses to scan now unless I dumb down my video card)

Some aspects of this game do not need to be changed just for the sake of change.
Do not get me wrong, some aspects of this game do need a serious look at.

I play this game for the content, social activities and because it's overall great! I do not play this game because someone feels the need to change icons every 6 months.

Thoughts?

I'd like to point out this was the first and only time they changed the icons in 11 years. Same goes for the neocom icons.

The "every 6 months" thing is hyperbole.

Maybe the NPC's...most else...yup have changed.

Regardless...did they need to change the NPC icons for the sake of change? Or could they have put the time and effort into something that actually needed work?

Both of the changes you mentioned are good if you look at them objectively, it's really hard to do this for most people as the older we get, the more our brains turn from sponge to rock.

And yes the 6 month thing is nothing but hyperbole.

Yeah the probe window is like somebody took the Power Rangers team and just plastered them onto one of those lithographic paintings sprinkled with glitter.

Despise it so much. Too many lines, too many blingy stars in the background, too much bookmark and celestials that group behind each other into those balloon pointy thingies that just make things so much more difficult.

When can I set my own icons CCP? Or have these as a UI option.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

I like the new probe screen. Just wish I could overlay it onto my main view, scroll all the way out from ship to full map of New Eden. Plot my route, scan, wave my d-scan cone around and look at pretty nebula all on one screen.

there were a few things that got rolled back over the years, but they were typically due to performance issues.

Edit: oh and this was beta to death nearly 6 months ago.. so why the whine about icons again? the new icons work a hell of alot better for me then the old ones did and i can get more info at a glance then i used to. Adapt or die. and reported
