Out of Pod Experience

I just formatted my computer and after I installed the Eve client, I had the new launcher.

Now everytime I open it, it just crashes within a second and tells me that it stopped working. Nothing I try is working. All my billions will be gone in a few days and my year old character. So I will not be returning.

Just thought I would let you know, peace out.

I had a similar situation with the new launcher. I thought I'd need to uninstall and reinstall the game.

I went back to the old launcher and its worked for me.

I can not do that. No files are installed. I installed the launchers and before it downloads any files it crashes.

I tried installing from an older install file but says it can not find the SharedRes Folder. I manually put one there and it says the same thing.

I tried everything I can think of and I'm not sending in support tickets and everything. I could have installed this new launcher months ago and if I wanted it I would have. If CCP is going to force crap I don't want on me and then give me problems, then I will leave.

This is the only game I enjoy playing so, I may come back when the Citadel comes out and if this problem get sorted. I can make billions on a trial account and make a video teaching people how make billions a month. I was going to do this soon, but I guess that plan is out the window for the time being.

With that being said I still have like five or six days and if I do leave I will spend some time on "The Citadel Project" which is located in the My Eve forums that I took a break from to build my isk back up.

After a week of this launcher crashing on me. It finally kicked in, but it took a crash in the launcher and then when the update.exe crashed both closed and when I reopened the launcher it finally kicked in and downloaded the game files.

I guess two wrongs do make a right. Now I have lots to do. My POS's are all out of fuel (I hope they are still there) and a couple hundred market orders to go through in a couple regions. I also got to get a PLEX for this character.

I really thought this was going to be my out, but I'm back in the game. Thanks everyone for trying to help with suggestions. It just took a couple hundred crashes for it to get going.

Good thing the OP went on a rage quit rant instead of looking into alternative ways of getting EVE to run.

You didn't quit right. What's wrong with you? Everyone who knows an addict is aware that you can't wait on fate to intervene with ceasing a terrible and disgusting habit like Eve is. You must willfully make the choice. I let my POS die through sheer neglect and I haven't logged in but maybe once since then. It's so liberating. Try again with some feeling in it this time, scrub.

I guess it's a good thing that the new eve client doesn't even boot up for me. I downloaded the .exe file, double click to open, nothing happens, nothing at all.

@CCP, did QA even test the new launcher at all?

so op you sill having issues?

and if so is it just the eve launcher or is other stuff having issues too? cause you know your pc might need to be looked at.

I format every few months because I am always repurposing my computer.

Whether I am playing around with modeling and game development or a lot of graphic design and webpage programs, or I am trying new software to see if I like them and afraid of spyware. Sometimes I try a whole bunch of games to find out that Eve is the only game I can play longer than a day.

I rather do a format and my computer runs perfect all the time, then to uninstall everything all the time and running maintenance jobs all the time. I always have zero clutter on my computer.

Last time I was caught off guard because of the new launcher, this time I will make sure I do not have only a few days left on my account when I format.
