It's been about two years since I have played last and such a lot has changed. For Galentte agent 3 and 4 missions are canes still viable and if so what would you recommend as a good fit; should I switch and train up a naga? Also what is a good BS and fit for 4 and 5?

Again thank you for any and all advice, I tried to use battle clinic but ts just one error after another on that site -_-

I don't really like linking sites like these, as I think coming up with your own fits instead of copying someone else's badfit is better for players in the long run, but some people just need some inspiration so here you go: Osmium

Do you already have skills from two years ago, or is it a fresh toon?

Cane will do 3's just fine, either with arty or ac's, but it will probably struggle in most 4's.

For level 4's, if you already have trained down this path, then go Machariel, or any marauder.

Pretty much any combat battlecruiser should do fine for most lv3s as will a Machariel or any BS really. Depending on how you want to run lv4s a Machariel or Barghest is the best currently. Other ships have advantages for things like full clear or salvage/looting. There's also burners that are part of the Lv4 mission pool that require specialized frigate and cruiser fits but they can be declined freely without penalty though they are quite lucrative. I have some fits in the link in my sig.

Not sure if micro jump drives were in the game two years ago. Probably not. So, you will discover that level 3 missions are super easy now in a sniper combat BC with mmjd, and level 4 missions the same in a sniper BS with lmjd. This goes for gun, missile, or drone boats. All can be fit to snipe near, at, or beyond a hundred km.

As for a cane in a level 4. No. Even if you can get the tank up to snuff, doing so will probably gimp your dps to the point that it would be a stupid endeavor, There are the above snipe options. And there are still all the non snipe more brawly options in a size appropriate ship. These will all be so much more efficient, and or more enjoyable. Actually I should say less boring.Straight

As for Naga in level 4. Why? You have no tackle defense. The attack BCs are pvp oriented. The only one that might be level 4 worthy is the Gallente one because it can carry a flight of light drones. But again, if you have large weapons trained just get in a BS.

I use a Navy cruiser for 3s and a Navy BS for 4s.

Also, the comment about sniping...100% true. With my Napoc Mega Pulse Laser II and Scorch range is 73km. With one Optimal Range Script 86km. With two 99km.

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

I would go with 2 ships that use related skills unless your toon is trained up well all around.

For a Gallante agent an excellent path would be Cane to Malestrom to Machariel. Only a Kronos or Vindicator is going to kill them faster, and the time you save by flying a fast ship will equal out your ISK/hr. If you want to go marauder, Vargur is great to fly for a Gallante agent. I run 4 Gyros and a nanofiber, a MWD and MJD. Literally hit 1500m/s, no slowboating. Good times.

I appreciate all the advice guys!!! And yes iv had this toon since 2006 so he is very well rounded when it comes to skills. Think ill tinker with both brawler and sniper fits so I dont get bored with any one way. The point of a game is to have fun right ;)

I like my Kronos.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I'm also a returning vet, when I left Tengu was pretty efficient at blitz running L4s. Is that still true or is it time to sell off the Tengu alt?

Other people claimed to be more successful than I was at that particular function, but it was still fun to break the monotony and decent money. However, I would not have an alt account for that sole purpose, that would be inefficient IMHO.

Tengu tends to be used more for stuff like running complexes.

Tengu is still decent but combination of heavy missiles not being what they were and the warp changes including implants making the Machariel a lot more agile means that you're better off with a Machariel if you're aiming for blitzing. The Rapid Heavy launchers also synergies really well with the Barghest making it very good for a good amount of the blitzable missions as well. Unfortunately Strategic cruisers can't be used in any of the burner missions as far as I'm aware either. T3s are mostly used for DED sites in low and null these days. Also WHs.

I might fit out a Tengu and give it a go at blitzing, see how it matches up. it can get really good warp speeds after all.
