I got word about 90 minutes ago that I'm being laid off from work after the 14th of January. Just got a 5 year service award at the company Christmas party in December. A bit over 5 1/2 years there at this point. The final paragraph of the service award, after thanking me for the 5 previous years of excellent service, said "we look forward to many more years of working together" etc etc.

Meh
