although hybrids are better, they are still very bad in pve.

Your great choices are really Amarr or Minmatar

Frigates: Amarr has.... um, the Punisher, pretty much. And lol 1 midslot AFs.
WINmatar has the Rifter, Jag, Wolf, Slasher....

Thrasher's awesome, Coercer suffers from more 1 midslotitis

Both have plenty of fun in the cruiser department. With the Zealot and Vagabond playing the opposite sides of the fast/hard spectrum. The Pilgrim/Curse and Huginn/Rapier all being great. (Don't have a huge amount of t1 cruiser experience)

BC you have the Harbi and the Cane, which are both awesome and can be great armor or shield tanked.

BS in fleet combat you have the Abaddon and the Maelstrom. Small gang, Minmatar probably has the edge with the skill intensive Typhoon.

Caps Amarr has the distinct edge, well... everywhere.

Overall, I'd recommend Minmatar due to their fantastic abilities with t1 weapons and low SP ships.

Just train for the Tengu, dude.

Otherwise I'd go for a Domi or a Mach, since both play very differently from what you are doing right now.

I got one very usefull tip on PvP, finish the support tree before switching to an other weapon system or you end op with 2 semi trained weapon systems and you're at the loosing end most of the time.

Sure there is experience involved as well, but it will help flying with a full skill set.

Missile launcher control elite certificate is very useful to have before switching to gunnery and the other way arround as well ofcourse.

As for a race to move to, I'd say Minmatar, because it's probably the fastest way to acces a whole new line of ships, Since most use shield tanking as well, you don't need to train armor tanking as well to fly them.

Definitely amarr

They are as versatile as missiles when it comes down to range and they actually work pretty well in both pvp and pve... just dont go to angel area and ull be good...

If you decide to train rail guns, which are worth it imo, get t2 large rails. Also, T2 large blasters is a big help as well. With the Rohk and the Naga can be fitted to put out some awesome dps. The naga may seem like it has a wet paper tank but its harder than a t2 fitted hurricane with equal if not more dps.

With t2 large blasters, the naga is the new Caldari Hurricane and can out manuver a tornado in a battle. If you have a rapier helping you it just LOLOLOLOLs people to death.

You either pick the best (minmatar) or whatever you think you'll have most fun with which we have no idea of knowing so yeah minmatar go go.
