What to do with ISK in Highsec?

Hi,

I've been making quite good ISK in Highsec.
I never really encountered PvP, if I did there were other people around me that did all the work. I don't think I will be a decent PvP pilot.
I'm in a corporation, but I mostly play on my own. Never was really sociable, I'm a trusty member though. I just love to read and write in corp chat while playing but I'm in a fleet extremely seldom.
The ship I have is the one I wanted, it can do everything I need for earning good ISK, I love it and it's my favorite.
But what now? Where to go? What to do will all that ISK? What possibilities do I have in Highsec to spend my ISK on?
I started to give away ships to people that actually use them for PvP, but there must be something for me, too.

I'd love to hear many different ideas and perhaps I'll find something new to try that's fun to me Big smile

start making enemies.

they're way more fun than friends.

This is a great way into the business of screwing with people (particularly if you are the patient sort)

Self-destruct every now an then? Blink

Seriously, what Ralph linked or solo suicide players with Catalysts/Vexors/Taloses for fun. Go to war with your corp. Put bling stuff on your ship and auto-pilot from Amarr to Jita till you get blown up by gankers.

More seriously, try solo PvP in a bunch of cheap frigates in lowsec. You learn how to find targets, what and how to engage, survival tactics, accommodate to loss, ...

Thank you for your answers.

I'm not sure, I don't think that I will be a PvP player that just tries to blow up anything.
Thought about doing that with a Nemesis a while ago, but I'd rather like to help someone and not attacking them.
I warned the players when I saw someone wasn't paying attention in Lowsec and someone was after them. Made a few friends that way.
Perhaps I should try to destroy ships of people that are about to attack others? Lol

But I don't really want to go back to Lowsec, I thought it was rather annoying to watch the Local and Dscan all the time Ugh
That's why I left it and went to Highsec.

If you'd rather help consider Logistics ships. You will fly in fleets, be absolutely loved and adored by all the km whores, and you don't have to shoot anyone.

Scouts are also a pvp role that doesn't involve shooting.

Pvp has many faces, not all of them require a given ship to blow up another.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

I could give that one a try, will take some time though I guess. I have no armor or shield skills yet, and also not much for logistics. I got a Navitas.
But when I got the skills, where can I find fleets to fly with?

Your playstyle sound very similar to mine. I don't care for PvP so I only seek out PvE.

This game is really a hardcore PvP game. I like the friends that I've made so I continue to play but since I don't PvP there's not much for me to do with my isk for myself.

Therefore I've decided to just be a facilitator for others who enjoy PvP to do so. I donate ships to people who I know will PvP in them and help with logistics ( moving supplies around ) and things like that.

However if you don't PvP yourself and don't find much joy in helping others to do so then there is not much of a point in you playing this game.

One thing that you can work towards is a jump freighter. With a JF it opens up a lot of options for you with regards to moving things around null and low sec. Of course you'll want to learn how to do so safely as you will have several Billion isk floating out in potentially dangerous space but you can at least help people move assets around. Of course you'll want to be very tight lipped about your movements.

This is quite understandable. But sounds that you think, PvP is the Dark side of the Force.
To blow up defenseless miners and haulers, blow up not for PvP fight fitted Explorers or Mission Runners.
Thats not really all of PvP, thats only the cowards PvP.

You can join RvB (RedversusBlue), they play in HighSec.
Read here more about: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Red_Vs_Blue_(RvB).

Or you can join Factional Warfare (but this will cost you standing loss against the opposite faction,
and then you may not be able to enter Caldari or Gallente space without harm).
Read here more about: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Factional_Warfare

Or join a NullSec Corporation in Providence (Amarr space). Different to other Nullsec Areas,
they have a NRDS (not red, dont shoot) rule. Again this means, to not blow up anything and
especially not cowardly the defenseless.
Read more about here on website of the leading Alliance in this area http://www.cva-eve.org/

But PvP is not all, its only one part of EvE. When it comes to the question, what to do,
may help you this table What to do in Eve Online
If you click on the boxes on the site, you get additional information about the special theme.
May be you find here a way to go...

You can try to be the PVP player that starts fights and tries to blow up other ships, or you can be the PVP player that loses a bling-fitted ship that they put too much money into, because they were rich and bored.

Any way you look at it, this is ultimately a PVP game.

Beside just giving stuff away, blowing things up is the only way to lose ISK. Blowing things up is not something bad, it's what the whole game is designed around. Especially blowing up all those careless and "defenseless" plays an important part in keeping the industrialist busy and prices healthy. EvE is a war economy, fueled by destruction of ships, modules, loot, and freight. For example as an explorer I'm heavily interested in blowing up as many competitors as possible, because the profit I make depends on the amount of loot on the market while the supply is limited. Even more as the loot is used to make T2 rigs, the price also rises with the demand for rigs, because more ships are blown up in PvP.

Most of the replies have focused on your PvP comments.

In terms of the "what to do with ISK" there are any number of things you can throw ISK at.

- if the amount of ISK you earn is in the billions per month you can just PLEX your account and saves subs
- as above but MCT train one of the two spare characters on your account so you have some alts
- be philanthropic and help out new players or donate to one of the PLEX for Good campaigns
- get some of the cosmetic addons like cybernetic parts for your avatar
- buy up some of the more pricey training books you will need later
- start a rare ship collection
- offer prize money to other people in your corp for some challenge or other. For example offer a fitted T3 as a prize for the winner of a 1v1 PvP elimination play off
- use the capital to get into market speculation and trading
- buy something your corp needs like another Orca/Rorqual or Freighter or Super and donate it

I collect & research BPO.

Only problem is, I'm running out of BPO to collect, and the last 8 are rather expensive.

You might look up Spectre Fleet and give that a try.

This is a sort of regular event where guys from all over get together in a fleet, go to Lowsec or Nullsec and shoot up whatever they come across/dares to challenge them. (NPSI, Not purple, shoot it, meaning everyone not purple (fleetmates are by default purple on the overview) is a legitimate target).

Have PvP-fun while only risking what you bring along and without any long-term involvement of being in a Corp so nothing really can go wrong if you don´t like it. Don´t know about them using Logistics but I doubt they would refuse it.

Given OPs looks, I'd know some worthwhile PvP.
It's called "Social engineering" and throwing isk into your wardrobe can be quite usefull.

Use that isk to GET OUT OF HIGH SEC

One of the best things you could do is fire up a Covops or Astero and just go take a tour of New Eden's backwaters with a probe launcher. Think of the probe launcher as a content generator- there is a bunch of content that it unlocks and CCP keeps adding to that list.

With halfway decent skills and a few techniques like MWD/Cloak- you are incredibly hard to catch even by most gate camps. I have camped many a gate and most things with a CovOps cloak walk right by unless we get a lucky decloak. If it were a shiny Tengu, we'd chase it, but we're not leaving our gate to chase after a T2 frigate.

You can mix up hacking sites with just sight seeing. There are many places of interest in NPC null, and setting up camp in someone's sov means you just steal content others have invested in upgrading. Lol

Most of the loot from hacking is small enough that it will take awhile to fill a cargohold. Drop it off a jump or two out of high sec and you can come back for it later from high sec with a Blockade Runner. At some point you will die, but by then you will probably have paid for that ship several times over.
Once you get to know the local landscape at your chosen high sec/low or null border- you might even take to doing whatever industry you do there. Perhaps run a small PI operation in the same low sec system you use to store loot. Low sec markets always need seeded, so I wouldn't fly an empty Blockade Runner into low any more than I would fly an empty one out.....(see the possibilities unfolding?)
