quit eve because the mac client was practically unplayable, now I try it again and it's even worse, crashing constantly. Do you even care about your subscribers ccp?

Thank you for your report -

Have you filed bug reports with crash logs.
Complaining to CCP and not giving any details of what the problems are, does not help them make it better.

What kind of crashes are you having?
Details my boy, we need details.

As for me, details are sent via the Crash Report each time, about 10-20 times a day. I cannot reproduce the bug "on purpose", except by opening ingame browser or "Show Character Info", which pretty much is a sure crash.

The last crash I had (5 minutes ago) was because I clicked the notification icon (lower right of the screen) and clicked it back to close it... Game hanged then got the "Send Crash Report" window pops up.

I did filed a bug report to CCP, report is now "Attached", meaning that my "report has been linked to an active defect". So they are aware of the issue(s) and are working on it. Big smile

I did lose a few days of training because opening the skill queue made the game crash... I just hope that they can compensate Mac client's user in some way. I understand our choice of gaming platform isn't theirs to assume but some of us use that same Mac to work with.

If a company launches a product that cannot work in a specific environment, why bother delivering it for those platforms? It would be the same as if car company launched a car that doesn't work in winter and/or snow in Iceland!

Anyway What?... I'll be patient. Blink

“Exception raised” happens everywhere from every half hour to every five minutes.

In the meanwhile use the try version of Crossover with the offline eve windows.exe installer.

easy to use its quite the same in performance as the mac client.

their is a alternative using a wrapping it with vanilla wine but their are not clear guides for it for the wine version at this day.

Interesting. I've been using the Mac client for six or seven years now. It's had its problems, but if anything IME it's better now than it used to be.

I play eve on a Desktop PC and when away from home on my MBA retina 2015. Granted the MBA does heat up quite a bit when playing eve and this worries me, my use for the MBA has been only to log when away on work away from home to quickly adjust/add skills to the queue and log off.

This has more to do with the GPU in the Mac and not the game client, you can always install SMC fan and check what temp and speed your system is running on. Personally speaking from past experience set it to 4500 RPM keeping your temp at 80c. - this advice was given to me by an apple employee at the Genius bar.

You may also benefit from checking any other applications that are using a good chuck of CPU power and quit these to optimise your experience. Try playing games with the AC adapter plugged in as the battery will by default set to power saver mode.

As someone who has owned Mac's and MBA's for a long time, let me tell you with confidence this is more of a MAC issue than anything else.

As I don't have the same computer or seen this issue -
First words of advice - restart your computer
Second word of advice - pray
Third word of advice - Check the game cache, and other parts of the game files. Don't know if you are using the New Launcher or not, but you should be able to check your shared cache and others through the cog wheel (settings).

You may just need to let it download more data first, as Down load ondemand is on by default.
