"The Wrath of God is Immense. His Justice is Swift and Decisive. His Tolerance is Limited.
Be Careful. Pure Thought is the Instigator of Sin.
Be Watchful. Free Thought is the Begetter of Disorder.
Be Respectful. Uniform Thought is the Way of Life.
The Mercy of our Emperor is Limitless. His Rule is Benign and Righteous. His Love is Perpetual."
- The Scriptures, Book I, The Code of Demeanor

There will be a burning once a suitable location has been sourced.

First, they burn the books. Then, they burn the people.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Perhaps you should use one of your own order's establishments for this affair, instead of appropriating the Basilica.

More or less. The Amarr don't tend to take heresy lightly, and they do like lasers.

Max Singularity, I guess, hasn't been formally labeled a heretic, but I doubt he's welcome in a lot of circles of Amarrian society right now.

Remember to breathe deep as the Basilica fills up with smoke from burning plastics and electronics. I suppose a "book deleting" doesn't have the same dramatic flair, but this is hilarious.

We indeed live in a space age. Even I (thank Royal Amarr Institute) can write a simple script (maybe, even a network worm) with an attached graphical library that would scan any local database for key word combinations for Max Amarria and then delete all the heretical files from the device in question, display purifying flames and threatening quotes from the scripture to the end user and then inform the Thelogy Council over the best available connection.

But burning printed copies on actual, organic paper is so charmingly traditional and symbolic that (despite the utter futility of this gesture) i'm all for it.

It's sort of an Achuran Observing the Autumn Moon ceremony, you won't understand :P

Do not burn these pieces of literature you fools! You will polute the air and breathe the ashes produced by that filth. Fill a cargo container, maroon it on a Barren planet and glass the surface with nuclear fire. It is the only way to be sure.

And don't you dare taking my copy, as I still use it as a glass coaster.

This is their cultural thing, Ms. Ruil. It is their books and they are doing with them whatever they want. We really shouldn't intervene.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

But still Commander, there are better way to dispose of waste other than burning it on open air. I thought the Amarr were more civilized than this.

To which the correct response is, So what?

Our God is a consuming fire. He burns all that is Wicked: naughty books or Minmatar slaves; all shall be burned in the end, this life or the next.

P. S. Because I am Chosen beyond Chosen, I have been reading the Max Amarria, scouring it for dark, occulted knowledge that might be used against the Minmatar in the odd chance that Max has somehow preserved any of this sacred knowledge against those in the Theology Council who would deny us it. Nothing yet, though.

P. P. S. The Max Amarria exhibits a strange anomaly. It cannot be placed directly inside a ship's cargohold; instead, it must be put in a container which can than be put in a cargo hold. Whether this fact is due to some obscure CONCORD regulation or some dark, metaphysical property of the text is unknown to me, but those delivering texts to the bonfire ought to be aware of it.

I call upon every Amarr, every one of the faithful, everyone that is loyal to God and Empire to join me at the Amarr Legio Basilica on the 9th at 2200 where we will chuck that misbegotten book into the fire.

I came expecting to see a rabble of people wanting to burn Max Amarria, but I see that Alizebeth quotes 'The Scriptures, Book 1' and infers to chuck that book into the fire.

Hmmmm....

First and foremost, I am against the purging of knowledge even if it is misbegotten because even if it is in error, it shows and illustrates the scale and depth of what people believe at that or this time.

Well there isn't much to read as what you have in your cargo hold is a book cover with a license key to open the content as it is written. ((We are actually doing this with a team of six writers hopefully by Holidays of YC118)).

So to be clear... I do not condone burning 'The Scriptures' and those that want to help rarify the availability of Max Amarria on the markets, let me know I'll be happy to come and light the match myself and toast the smoke with a drink... or four. Blessings be.

/s/ Max Singularity VI

I'll just leave this here...

"You can burn a book. You can burn a man. You can burn town, a city, or even an entire planet to ash. But, you can't burn an 'idea' or an 'ideology' regardless of the fire power you muster, because when the flames of your violence dwindle to naught, and all that is left is ash of those books, those people, and those planets, you will be judged." - Max Amarria

I agree, violent, populist acts do not belong in such a solemn place of Faith.

Very well, I shall postpone this event until a more suitable location can be found. All of the Order of Jamyl's facilities are in space at the moment and bonfires do not belong on space stations.
The Basilica should remain an open and welcoming location to all of Amarria, even the ones that support Lord Singularity.

If they will be burning you, I myself would come to watch or maybe even to lay a fresh wooden branch to your legs as a present. I hope you will love it.
