Is there any value in war dec'ing inactive corps and destroying POSs in hi-sec? Are the inoperable structures likely to drop anything of value?

Did this for awhile a year or so back.

One thing to remember is that you are looking for expensive things like labs, etc, which may have blueprints. If you are really lucky there may be ships stored in one of the modules. Weapons modules are pretty cheap so there is usually no point in dropping abandoned deathstars.

But it's essentially a crapshoot.

You can usually make a small profit, but around 99% of the abandoned towers in hisec are stripped (ie, nothing but the tower). So unless you are getting paid by somebody else to drop it so they can move in shooting those towers is a waste of ISK. They do tend to be good for practice, tho.

Where the money is happens to be finding abandoned towers in wormhole space. Those can literally have ANYTHING.

What makes WH diving fun is sometimes they aren't abandoned...:)

Hilarity generally ensues at that point...:)

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Found an unfueled piƱata that dropped 3bil isk in materials a month ago. It's rare but it happens.

A long time ago I'd been wormhole diving and stumbled upon an offline tower amidst a host of online ones belonging to an alliance. We raided that one for a good hour before a WH occupant got suspicious and the PEW PEW happened.

For me labs don't show up items so it can be a gamble. Do them sometimes from time to time. Did one earlier on my alt and got a few 10/20 BPOs.
