We're not allowed to post killmails in GD ...
... and I'm not even looking.

Hell, I have no idea why you even link it.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

I only lost one sabre going to null-sec in low sec but I had no Blop then...

The 2nd epic fail video has a red truck that looks like a Nuka-Cola truck.

Builds ship in empty Quafe bottle.

Yeah but WHY did you want to show me this? xD
I mean no offense, honestly, but why??

Getting amused here. ^_^
Also, my portrait doesn't update. pfffft.

The reason is because I lost one and there is the proof of how.

Also, why should I show it to you and not to the thread?
I could have EVE Mailed it to you but didn't .

Also, when will SP trading work?
Since it may affect RAPID numbers...

Builds ship in empty Quafe bottle.

A question semi-related to the topic of the thread:

I haven't heard about many epic null fights on non-eve sites in forever. Does that have something to do with the lack of new people? I mean in the past, you'd expect some crapstrom to make news in places like the escapist, kotaku, or d-toid once a year or so. Maybe the game isn't getting enough free publicity like it used to.

The last big fight to make news outside Eve was B-R on 27 January 2014, so we are approaching 2 years ago.

I think the reason is more to do with CCP design decision rather than a lack of new players (who aren't generally involved in those massive fights to much degree).

It began with the Phoebe travel changes, where in the devblog there are a couple of relevant quotes:

Why this?/Why now?
[the travel changes]
- Big fights are cool, but they’re crowding out more accessible and more frequent smaller ones.

What are the anticipated consequences?
In the short term, we would anticipate a reduction in the degree to which the average non-trivial capital fight escalates, and the number of parties involved. This seems likely to increase the frequency of capitals being deployed in small-scale engagements, in both lowsec and nullsec.
...
it seems plausible that the general reduction in travel capabilities will lead to more localism

CCP wanted to design large fights out of the game to a degree, opening the door to more Capital use in lowsec and more localised conflict.

That was also further emphasised with the introducton of Aegis sov, which was designed to break large fights under Dominion sov into several smaller skirmishes over command nodes.

Looking back, the changes have been really successful in achieving what CCP predicted back then, but it's clear that a lot of players want big fights back again.

Yes, I suspected the travel changes that happened while I wasn't playing had a bit to do with it.

Here's my opinions on fights: eve needs enough pvp fights of all sizes to stay healthy. You need small group vs small group for people who don't lead a null alliance. You need one vs one for the soloers. You need larger alliance level fights that are worth fighting and worth risking ships over (people not risking ships is a separate issue) to keep null alliances interested in things.

But I think that the game itself needs those epically massive fights you don't and can't see in other games. 5v5 is nice, for a moba. 1000 vs 1000 is a rarity that reminds people that eve exists and it's one of the few if not only game that lets you do something massive. For gaming, having 1,000 people on each side fighting at the same time as everyone else is massive.

Yes I know the server hamsters hate it, but it needs to happen 2-3 times a year.

We're not completely out of the news:
German magazine Gamestar picked up a couple of stories around october and november. Before that they hadn't reported on EvE in a while.

But yeah, I guess you're right ... we don't make the news so often anymore. Valkyrie seems to get some attention, which will hopefully translate into more interest in eve-online, once the VR-game is out.

Since 3/4 of the world is in 2016 already and the rest will follow within the next hours, I propose that we get this thread locked and restart a new one with a more neutral title.

Please like and subscribe ... uh, I mean propose titles below.

Ah well, was a nice month. :p

Had the sabre for over a year now, and still didn't stab customers with it yet, though I may have lost a few.
Nothing better to sit on a gate to miss ships going by , except the ones which are too powerful.

What the **** is the point of sitting at a gate like an idiot, waiting for ships to come by,
in the hopes that a few of them are easy enough to kill.

That's ******* worthless!

its actually quite fun, i couldnt do it 24/7 but the occasional gatecamp is quite a laugh, especially when you get the ocassional afk ceptor pilot carryin around 25plexCool

Playing for isk is for peasants, no matter the amount.
It's just sad.

Gate camping isn't very different from mining, the required mindset is pretty much similar.

I understand when people do it in groups, talking, drinking.

Solo? Solo it's non-playing and doing something else,
while being logged in and waiting for something to happen or a cycle to finish.

I must admit that doing it occasionally might be fun ...
... hoping for a lucky opportunity ...
... but not in the long run.

as soon as you login you are playing for isk, this game operates on isk, doesnt matter if you are gatecamping or in fleet battles its all about destroying isk someway or another, so yes everyone plays for isk
