Why no shinies this year for christmas?
Could have at least handed out something from previous years..
I'm sure we all would have liked to see more Geckos or something...

Am I just too early for christmas presents or something?

.. Or was another player correct in the claim that the gifts are in the frostline sites?
If this is correct, the 3 kings didn't make Jesus battle it out in the wilderness for his gifts.

Is this where you want to be when Jesus comes back?

Yes, always a good idea to threaten people with fictitious religious consequences if they do not do A. or B.
Or in this case not have done A. or B. for that matter.

EvE is shining, enjoy the show I would say!

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

I'm not the one that started the handouts... that was them...

For me, it's more like you can't say A without doing B, and you can't do B without saying A.

Oh, and as far as that fictitious religious consequences... The last part of my comment was a direct quote from a great movie, and was intended to be funny... Look it up.

I sincerely hope it's because they finally realized that people are slobs who respond to gifts not with gratitude, but with the expectation of future gifts.

If I could, I'd replace OP's Christmas gifts from CCP with one piece of carbon.

I enjoyed the gifts we got. The special commidity items had some funny descriptions to read, and my alt looks hot in her festive rocket dress.

If you celebrate christmas, do you not expect christmas gifts on the holiday?
I mean, even if you're in a poor family, you typically have some sort of holiday routine, even if it's a christmas beating.

You can change your mind on your beliefs, but it doesn't change the fact that everyone else you've been involved with still expect the same of you...

Truthfully, I really don't care that much about the shinies, but it's kinda hard to break expectations to which CCP set in place themselves.
I didn't make them do it... They did it themselves.

If I gave you 1 million isk everyday as a gift, then suddenly stopped doing it, you too would wonder why even if you understood that it had all been gifts.

First of all, many horse have a tatooed number, not in the mouth, nor the teeth, but in between the two, below the lower lip.
Nonetheless, that doesn't mean not to care for the beast oral hygiene, and you may be responsible for putting it down , depending....

#2. Jesus who?
You might want to be careful about where you take the battle with this one.
It's even hard to mention about Amarr rituals in the EVE General forum due to NDAs.

I'd be happy being able to put some of the goodies we got to redeem in my cargo hold...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Put them in a cargo container, then put the container in your cargohold.

We did. I still have some 28 or so items I haven't redeemed yet (waiting to get back to my home system next month). No Geckos, but something as functionally practical as Geckos and Leopards are an exception, not the norm. Mind you, I wouldn't mind more Geckos and the likes, but I figure one-time deals are suppose to be, in fact, one-time deals. No offense, but this would literally be like me complaining that I never received a Zephyr because they won't hand out any more than they did when they did.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Well, I didn't get some of the presents they gave out, cause I wasn't subbed at the time.
Geckos being one of the items I didn't get, but that's not why I posted this thread.

If I don't go to the christmas party where gifts are being handed out, I can't expect to be given a gift if I know they're only given to people at the party.

Now, as far as all the garbage goods they gave us (apart from the clothing, which is like stuffing socks in the package of a toy) the best I could do with that stuff is trash it..
I don't collect mementos of the game, so a bunch of random stuff that has no practical value is worthless to me.

Those items do have an ISK value, you know. Also the longer you hold onto them, the more they're going to be worth in the long run.

I don't think they're ever going to have a substantial monetary value, as they serve no functional purpose.

As far as having isk value, what I was able to sell was worth about 500k isk.
Not saying that's nothing, but in a game where most ships cost more than that, it's virtually nothing..

Again though, while I am complaining that we weren't given shinies, I'm not complaining so much as wondering why the sudden change of pace without providing information, to the players, as to why they aren't doing shinies...

If by "expect" you mean in the statistical sense that I will probably receive gifts, sure.

If you mean "expect" in the entitled sense that I deserve gifts and should complain about it a lot if I don't receive them, no, not so much.

No, it's easy. Just stop doing it, let the whiny little ***** throw their tantrums, and stay the course.

I would, huh?

Kind of a bold assumption that everyone subscribes to your own sense of entitlement.

I guess it is a bit rude, but I was disappointed in the gifts. Its not like this is a free to play game.
If CCP had just given out a lot of token gifts in earlier years, I would have expected it.
But the gifts from previous years were pretty good, they were appreciated, and I was actually looking forward to them.

Just my opinion, but decent gifts were a nice thing, and its hard to understand how this served any good purpose.
