Launcher appears, but will not launch the game

I updated to OS El Capitan on my Macbook Pro, and now EVE will not function.
I've uninstalled, downloaded again and reinstalled but the following happens:

The Eve Launcher opens (it says reading / has completed downloading and patching)

I enter my login info and press 'play'.

Nothing happens.

Previously, when I had issues with the launcher I would just go to the EVE.exe file and start the game without using the launcher at all. So I thought I'd try that. Except I can no longer locate the EVE.exe file.

Please tell me there's a CCP dev who can this sorted out reasonably quickly.

But if I understand you. Try the refresh option in the menu bar.
The menu bar icon on the top right or it is in one of the top left drop downs as well.
