Need help with a message that showed on my screen

Well there is not much to explain. I was undocked right in front of a station. I looked up some stuff for my ships on the internet and when I switched back to EVE, there was a message about i am in territory/area of something or somebody and that I will be terminated or something like this. Somebody has kill rights against me, if this helps. Sorry for the bad description of what happened.

I greatly appreciate any help.

Everyone on grid sees that message. It pops up when someone enters the system who has low standings with the faction of that system.

Unless the message contained your name you don't need to worry. If it does you get shot by NPCs.

In the upper most left hand side of your screen by default is the neocom menu. It is a stylized "E" as in for Eve. If you hover over it there will be additional sub-menus that you can navigate to. You want:
Accessories > Log and Messages

All of your messages including chat channels are stored somewhere on your hard drive. It would take me a bit of searching to figure that out but if you needed to know there is a way to look up old system and chat message logs.

That message is a bug that is too low priority for CCP to have fixed over the past 8 years.

Whenever a pilot with low standings enters a system, he gets a message "You will be attacked by the defense forces." Unfortunately, everyone else also gets a message "YOU will be attacked by the defense forces" instead of "Pilot X will be attacked by the defense forces."

It's a bug.

Yeah, but it clearly starts with "You", and the message is broadcasted to everyone rather than just the person who's going to be attacked.

Anyway, it's a feature.

click on your character portrait to bring up your character sheet and then find the kill rights tab on the left (pretty close to the bottom). I'd guess someone shot at you while you were infront of the station, and you should have kill rights on them. I'd also guess that person was either a criminal or their sec stats was low enough for the npcs to attack them so that message popped up for them.

there is also a notification feed, not sure if that is enabled or not by default. if it is you can click on it and it should give you some info on the kill right.

hmm looks like there are a few notifications like that. I think the first one is low sec status, and the second is FW?
You have entered Caldari space "character name", where criminals will not be tolerated!
"character name", you are an enemy to our nation. Leave immediately or be fired upon!
