In what way?

We're talking gaming machines here. So if they are supposedly superior in another field is quite irrelevant in the context of this thread.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

But it is in context with the person he replied to that said they aren't great computing machines.

Steve Jobs fundamentally saved the Mac from oblivion by swapping to x86 based CPU circa 2005. Brilliant move (you could see who was winning in the chip wars). It :
a) ensures the Mac's longevity
b) expanded the potential of the Mac through versatility - as it could then run PC codes natively.

The Mac nowadays is essentially a proprietary PC with a proprietary OS.
Stop dreaming it'll play well with the other PC/Win generics. For gaming, stay with PC/Win.

P.S. What I think of a Mac personally? Teenage fetish.

Have you tried running the windows client with wine, like we linux people do? There is even a clicky GUI thingy to help you with the installation (www.playonmac.com) all free software.

I have a Mac for work (software development) / general things right next to a PC dedicated to gaming.

The right tool for the right job.

Mac sucks for gaming, PC sucks for everything else.

I built a Hackintosh for my ex.
They make documentaries and the editor they were working with at the time was, "Buy a Mac. Buy a Mac." One of the real zealots of that brand.
It was 75% of the price and +10% more power than the closest Mac Pro I could find and second from the top.
It was triple booting Windows, Mac and Linux and had Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier installed. This made it flexible and it blew the Mac-tard's minds, which made it all so very worth it. Smile

Even Apple knows that its OS is rubbish and makes Windows versions of most of its software. Blink

Someone I know is buying a Mac laptop soon for $1500 because "it's...just superior in every way." He goes on about a 12 hour battery life and such. He doesn't game at all which is what really hit me. $1500 could build a great gaming desktop, instead he's buying an overpriced Mac to use for Uni assignments and Facebook, which could be easily done on a $200-$300 laptop running Windows. When I pointed this out he started talking about the battery life again.

The MAC has horrible accuracy, it just empties its entire magazine towards the vicinity of the target. Not to mention that it kicks upwards so you might not even hit someone.
