Train some combat skills. Get some of your mates together, and kick ass. If you are unable to do this your corp/alliance suck you need to find another. My Alliance is at war right now. If I had trained some basics skills I would be out there fighting for it.... and KICKING SOME ASS! Profession wise I'm a miner. I mine non-stop for hours, but I'm not afraid to fit a few cheap BC and go out and fight. A BC by the time you buy it and fit is not all that much.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

EVE Endgame: Killmail farming, because it's "cooler" than Ore farming.

Sandbox: Everyone does what Endgame people are doing, like it or not.

a. This player enjoy the "crafting" part of the game, yes to create ships, ammunition and items pvp players are flying on, not the PVP.
b. Corps who wardec industrialists have a clear goal, to hunt those who cant shot back and get easy profit. Wasting time on combat skills for industrialists will make no difference, the moment you get on pvp ship the ganker disappear or dock in to the station and monitor your activity with neutral alt.

The only solution against War Dec is NPC Corp, but since OP mentioned suicide gankers as well then there's no easy solution for that.
