o7 space pilots :)

I have played for a few months on a Mac. It runs well but crashes. It crashes during gate jumps (once in a while) and upon opening the browser (50% of the time). I have been playing basically without the browser because of crashes.
So I bought a PC laptop. The initial experience sucked bad. (loading resources) But is now smooth as silk. I am pleased that I now have a stable machine to play EVE but a bit disappointed at the need for a PC when I've already got a Mac.

Glad you realized the better choice.

Mac.... Shocked

Since the very first day they got invented they have been utter rubbish when it concerns anything to do with gaming. This still hasn't changed if you compare them to a PC.

If anyone even gives a reason to get a Mac over a PC for gaming, ignore them. Just don't do it.... P

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

The best part about Macs nowadays is that they're actually broken PCs ...
... until you install windows ... or linux, ofc. ^_^

Macs are solid machines...they're just not gaming computers.

I run Eve just fine on an intel-based Mac but it certainly runs better under boot camp with Windows natively installed.

As far as I know Macs are just PCs with a different OS installed, so couldn't you just have installed Windows rather than buying a new machine?

This. Apple stopped using IBM's PowerPC CPUs and moved to Intel's x86 CPUs some time ago, so you can easily dual boot Unix, sorry I mean OS X, or Windows.

Doc used to have a Mac, but then he quickly learned how to use a real computer, one without permanent training wheels.

I would say Macs are more like consoles than PCs. A locked-down proprietary machine designed to remove your freedom of choice when it comes to hardware upgrades and software, for the purpose of keeping you locked into that system so you'll give them more money in the long run.

Macs are a very complicated scheme to get you to buy adapters from displayport to whatever you actually need for only $29.99.

Don't anger the forum gods.

Then just get rid of the Mac?
Or install windows on your mac... that way you can keep using overpriced hardware but have a proper OS. (not sure why you'd want to do that though)

There was a short period of time where Macs were technically great for gaming. They were trying to court more AAA games over to Mac. Didn't really work out. After they lost Halo as a Mac game, I think they just gave up.

Glancing into my local hipster coffee shop, I'd say there are more people developing open source software than I realized.

That or Apple product placement in all the shows and movies full of beautiful young people is paying the dividends they hoped for. Sell the brand and you don't need quality.
