Hey Evasive. Some advice from a fellow musician person thingy.

1) When you're just starting out making music, it's very tempting to show off all your creations. Don't do that. You need to go through a learning process before you start putting your music out there. That process will involve making stuff that isn't very good. But that's totally normal and okay, as long as you learn from it. It's something pretty much every creative person will go through.

Now you might be thinking, "omg they think I suck, I'm going to quit!" No. You haven't been doing it long enough to say whether or not you suck at it. So keep doing it.

2) Don't post short loops or WIPs (works in progress) on Soundcloud unless you're asking for specific technical advice from people who know what they're talking about, and even then Soundcloud isn't the best place for that. Use music production forums instead. All you'll get on Soundcloud are comments like "I like this!" or "great beat!" or whatever. These comments are useless noise and will not help you at all. Also people who want to hear music want to listen to completed tracks, not the same loop repeated for 2 minutes.

Good luck with your music. If you want any tips or anything just drop me an evemail.

I once tried making music, anything i have done was a sad, depressing tunes one could describe only as dump, wet. primitive shallowgrave doom with some howling wind undertones. I luckily resigned before I wanted to commit suicide with a dull spoon.

Your music isnt so bad.

If you're serious about taking up music as a hobby then you'll need to invest in a DAW (digital audio workstation). This is your virtual studio, containing your mixing desk, instruments, effects, etc. Luckily you don't need to spend megabucks on this. For a newb I would recommend a choice between FL Studio Producer Edition and Reaper, with a preference for FL Studio, mainly because it's great value (free updates for life) and has a large and helpful community with devs highly active on the forums. Reaper is very cheap whilst being a powerful and fully featured DAW. There are cheap entry level versions of Ableton Live and Cubase but they are limited and poor value IMO.

Then once you have your DAW you want some instruments. Depending on the DAW you might not have many decent instruments to choose from, but fear not! There are some great free VSTs available to download:

Synth1 Capable of making some very nice sounds.
TyrellN6 It's a CPU hog but its sound is 'phat', as they say.
TAL-NoiseMaker Simple but effective.
u-he Zebralette
Tone2 Firebird

Then put it all together and do this. j/k

Keep making the music OP! If you enjoy it and you "feel it," technique and further sophistication will happen as you go along.

Yeh i do enjoy it and i made those three loops in one day but i do need some more programs n such but atm im focussing on my youtube channel.

Ideally want to make music for myself so i can have background tracks so i don't get hit with copyright non stop

So annoying when u do a video n get a 16 kill streak, add music, it gets slammed with copyright n u get 100+ views in one day n ur like FFS OMG
