Some thing that keeps disconnecting me ...

... is me uploading something.

I've never experienced that issue with any other software ...
... but EVE, as soon as I upload a bigger sized pic on imgur ...
... just disconnects with a socket closed message.

You might not even be aware of software using your bandwith.
It could be a silent application update or even windows itself, that hogs it.

Just a thought for your consideration. I do not claim it's the reason for all and every disconnect ...
... but it is one for me. Sometimes.

Happens to me in hotels when I travel for work. 24 hour password for wifi expires... I don't notice for 15 or so minutes. My VPN collapses, my websites stop loading but Eve... its fine. Put new password in for the day and Eve jumps to life with my missing chat messages.

Now, if a bluejay lands on a tree in Central Park... Fark my socket. Roll

I get disconnected if I try to open Spotify whilst playing... Kinda strange as my internet should be powerful enough for it.

EVE is somewhat dependent on not having dropped packets. I usually get disconnected a lot when my cable modem goes out of sync (it's actually a thing that can happen, according to the ISP tech support); takes keeping it off for 5 minutes to restore connections.

Depending on what router you have, see if you can increase the priority for EVE traffic (some routers let you do this by IP address, others by port numbers).
